About The Role

We boast a seasoned multi-disciplinary crew ready to support your land development endeavor. To guarantee seamless project delivery, we provide an all-encompassing approach and a comprehensive array of services. Whether it's crafting commercial plans or orchestrating urban subdivisions, we strive to uncover optimal solutions, positioning ourselves as your trusted partner in land development. Armed with a wealth of project experience and an in-depth grasp of municipal requirements, the Egis team has expertise in the municipal approvals process.

Tailoring our approach to the specific nature of the development, we meticulously prepare engineering documents necessary for submission. These documents serve as a testament to our unwavering commitment to adhere to municipal design standards and criteria, assuring the municipality that the proposed development won't adversely affect adjacent properties or downstream infrastructure.

Embedded within Egis’s land development process is a thorough assessment of natural features on each site. Our meticulous plans are designed to minimize environmental impacts while ensuring the sustainable development of your project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and drafting of engineering/construction drawings for various land development, municipal engineering and/or major interdisciplinary projects.
  • Developing drawings, plans, profiles, and models in a 3D format. Experience with Civil3D surfaces, pipe networks and pressure pipe networks is considered a strong asset.
  • Producing design spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
  • Producing written reports for development projects.
  • Enhancing data charts and tables for presentation.
  • Interpreting and implementing standards from regulatory bodies, approving agencies and project stakeholders.
  • Maintaining positive client relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leading and providing mentorship to other designers.
  • Keeping up to date on the latest design tools and aids in CAD/civil 3D in consultation with our team of designers. 
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following background, skills and attributes:

  • Completion of a college diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering Design Technology, or similar.
  • Experience in consulting engineering in Alberta and/or land development or municipal engineering design and construction would be an asset.
  • Proficiency working with design tools such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Experience working with Projectwise, BIM360, Procore, Sharepoint or other cloud-based platforms is considered an asset. 
  • Well-developed computer and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of or experience in the field on construction projects would be an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to think creatively.
  • Ability to work with engineers on multidisciplinary development projects.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
