Job description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a Behavioral Specialist serving K-12 students across multiple districts in the Emporia, KS area. This full-time contract position runs from August 19, 2026, through May 20, 2027, with a 35-hour workweek offering a dynamic school setting that values collaboration and specialized support for students’ behavioral growth.

Ideal candidates bring expertise in conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), developing and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and driving data-informed interventions. Your primary focus will include supporting students with behavioral and social-emotional needs, partnering closely with educators, parents, and interdisciplinary teams to foster positive outcomes.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Current Kansas State Teaching License with appropriate endorsement
  • Experience as a Behavioral Specialist, BCBA, or similar school-based role preferred
  • Prior work with FBAs, BIPs, and evidence-based behavioral interventions
  • Strong skills in collaboration, crisis intervention, and staff training
  • A license in school psychology, social work, or school counseling is a plus
