Job description

Salary Range: $62,000 To $72,000 Annually
This position supports ongoing digital marketing operations across Great Clips owned channels, including the consumer-facing website, email campaigns, app messaging, blog content, local listings, and more. Reporting to the Manager of Digital Marketing, this role partners closely with internal digital marketing, brand, and communications teams, as well as external agencies and platform partners.
The Digital Marketing Specialist is a collaborative, detail-oriented, and technically minded marketer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively manage shifting priorities across multiple channels and projects. The ideal candidate is curious, proactive, and eager to learn, with the ability to balance technical execution with creative and brand judgment while independently driving work forward. They should also be comfortable contributing to creative and content review processes by providing thoughtful feedback and recommendations, including refining messaging and reviewing digital assets to ensure alignment with the Great Clips brand voice, tone, and customer experience.
Your mission
On your journey, you will face challenges such as:
Cross-Channel Collaboration & Digital Operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including brand, communications, and external vendors, to support email, app messaging, website campaigns, and broader marketing initiatives while leveraging monday.com to manage workflows, timelines, and project coordination.
  • Distribute digital content and creative assets to internal and external partners, maintain organized content repositories, and communicate program launches, updates, and implementation details.
  • Assist in analyzing and summarizing digital marketing performance data from platforms including Google Analytics, Yext, Zeta, and Power BI; contribute to campaign recaps, reporting materials, and presentations that communicate insights and optimization opportunities to internal stakeholders.

Email Marketing
  • Create and maintain email campaign briefs in Excel that translate marketing strategy into executional requirements and support accurate campaign setup and vendor execution.
  • Perform QA testing on email campaigns using Email on Acid across major inbox providers, desktop and mobile environments, and physical iOS and Android devices to ensure rendering, functionality, and content accuracy; manage end-to-end deployment in partnership with Zeta Global/Cheetah Digital.

Website, SEO & Search
  • Upload and manage website content within dotCMS and Yext-hosted salon webpages, ensuring updates are accurate, on-brand, and QA'd across devices and browsers; troubleshoot webpage, formatting, and data issues through internal updates or vendor coordination.
  • Manage the Yext Search experience across salon website pages by training and optimizing the machine learning search tool, identifying content gaps and customer intent opportunities, and partnering with internal teams to improve content discoverability and search performance.

Mobile App Marketing
  • Build, test, and deploy mobile app campaigns in Airship, including push notifications, inbox messages, modals, and automated journeys; write and optimize message content, perform cross-device QA testing, and coordinate stakeholder reviews.

Content & Blog Management
  • Contribute to blog content planning and execution by identifying content opportunities and industry trends, providing SEO-focused recommendations, reviewing drafts for copy and brand accuracy, and assisting with the sourcing of relevant brand and stock imagery that aligns with Great Clips brand guidelines.

Local Listings & Reputation Management
  • Collaborate with the communications team and external vendors to gather, adapt, and publish content across Google Business Profile and Apple Business Connect listings, adjusting copy and creative as needed to better align with platform best practices.
  • Manage local business listings within Yext across Google Business Profile, Apple Business Connect, and other publisher platforms, ensuring accurate salon information and local search visibility; troubleshoot listing, map pin, and data synchronization issues while supporting franchisee questions and escalations.
Your Expertise
  • Four-year college degree preferred and 2-3 years of digital marketing experience, particularly related to email, app, and website channels.
  • Solid understanding of digital marketing strategy, best practices, and tactics, including email, app, website, SEO, and local search marketing.
  • Previous experience working within WYSIWYG platforms; basic familiarity with HTML is a plus but not required.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
  • Experience writing creative briefs, reviewing creative outputs, and coordinating digital creative assets across multiple channels.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading, QA, and digital content review experience.
  • Preferred experience with analytics and reporting processes. Exposure to platforms such as Google Analytics, Yext, Zeta, and Power BI is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with external agencies and cross-functional partners to execute campaigns on time.
  • Franchise, retail, or multi-location brand experience preferred.
Your Work Environment
Position based in Great Clips corporate office in Bloomington, Minnesota. This is a hybrid work position requiring a combination of three in-office workdays and the option to work from home on the remaining days. Working remotely will require reliable, secure internet.

Great Clips, Inc. was established in Minneapolis, Minnesota by founders David Rubenzer and Steve Lemmon in 1982, a time when most people received haircuts in one of three ways: in full-service hair salons, from barbershops or at home. As a stylist and businessman, David could see that the industry was changing. Customers were looking for a hair salon service that could fit their busy lifestyles and desire for value. To be part of that change – rather than find themselves competing with it – David and Steve developed the then-radical concept of a walk-in haircare salon with weekend and evening hours, offering customers a select list of services, and providing benefits for stylists. After the founders opened several successful hair salons, Ray Barton joined David and Steve as an owner in March 1983. With Ray's help and expertise in franchising, the trio set about growing the Great Clips hair salon brand. That success continues through today.
