Alaskan Brewing Company is looking for a Social and Digital Coordinator to help bring our brand, beers, people, and Alaska story to life across our digital channels.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this role will serve as the day-to-day coordinator for our social media and digital communications, including organic social content, paid social and paid digital media, email newsletters, customer communications, internal communications, and digital storytelling campaigns. We are looking for someone who is equal parts communicator, organizer, content manager, and doer. This individual should be comfortable managing an editorial calendar and paid campaign one minute, drafting a newsletter the next, and jumping in to help capture content or handle a last-minute request around the brewery.

This is a role where a broad digital communications skill set can live successfully with one person. The right candidate will be a strong writer, digitally fluent, highly organized, comfortable managing paid media, and excited to tell authentic stories about Alaskan Brewing and the people and place behind it. Being physically connected to the brewery, our employees, and what is happening day-to-day provides significant value in this position.

Key Responsibilities Social Media & Community Management
  • Manage Alaskan Brewing's day-to-day presence across social media channels.
  • Develop, schedule, publish, and maintain organic social content in coordination with the broader marketing calendar.
  • Write engaging, on-brand copy tailored to each channel and audience.
  • Monitor comments, messages, mentions, and other community interactions and respond or route them appropriately.
  • Identify opportunities to participate in relevant conversations and bring timely stories to our audiences.
  • Track social performance and help identify opportunities to improve engagement and content effectiveness.
Paid Digital & Paid Social
  • Manage the day-to-day execution of Alaskan Brewing's paid digital and paid social campaigns.
  • Build, launch, monitor, and optimize paid campaigns across relevant digital and social platforms.
  • Coordinate campaign audiences, creative, messaging, budgets, timing, and placements in support of broader marketing goals.
  • Work with internal teams and agency or media partners as needed to ensure campaigns are executed accurately and on schedule.
  • Monitor campaign performance and make recommendations to improve reach, engagement, traffic, conversion, and overall effectiveness.
  • Maintain clear reporting on paid digital performance and help translate results into actionable insights for future campaigns.
  • Ensure paid media works cohesively with organic social, email, web, retail, and broader brand campaigns.
Digital Campaigns & Storytelling
  • Coordinate digital storytelling campaigns supporting brand initiatives, beer launches, seasonal programs, events, partnerships, and other marketing priorities.
  • Turn larger marketing ideas into coordinated digital executions across organic social, paid social, paid digital, email, web, and other channels.
  • Gather stories, photos, video, employee perspectives, and other content from across the company.
  • Help maintain a consistent Alaskan Brewing voice and visual presence throughout digital communications.
  • Work with internal teams and external partners as needed to keep campaigns moving from idea through execution.
Email & Newsletter Communications
  • Manage Alaskan Brewing's customer email newsletter, including content planning, writing, coordination, deployment, and performance tracking.
  • Coordinate and produce the company's employee newsletter, gathering updates and stories from departments throughout the organization.
  • Maintain email lists, templates, calendars, and related digital communication tools.
  • Identify opportunities to make our email communications more useful, engaging, and consistent.
Customer Communications
  • Manage the company's general info@ inbox and ensure inquiries are answered or routed to the appropriate person in a timely manner.
  • Serve as a helpful and professional first point of contact for a wide range of customers, fans, partners, and community members.
  • Identify recurring questions or themes that could inform future communications or content.
On-Site Content & Marketing Support
  • Capture and coordinate timely content from the brewery, employees, events, visitors, production, and other activities in Juneau.
  • Help execute smaller marketing and communications needs that require someone physically present at the brewery.
  • Support events, photo and video shoots, product launches, employee initiatives, community activities, and other marketing projects as needed.
  • Be willing to jump into the miscellaneous requests that are an inevitable part of working on a small, collaborative marketing team.
  • For employees based outside Juneau, travel to Juneau regularly to stay connected to the brewery, team, and stories that are central to the role.
Education, Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Experience managing social media channels for a brand, organization, or similar professional environment.
  • Experience managing paid social and paid digital advertising, including campaign setup, optimization, budgeting, and performance reporting.
  • Familiarity with digital advertising platforms, email marketing platforms, content management tools, social scheduling tools, and digital analytics.
  • Ability to understand campaign performance and use data to improve future digital marketing efforts.
  • Ability to create compelling content and recognize a good story when it is happening.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, campaigns, and communication streams at once.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to communicate publicly on behalf of a brand.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with people across departments.
  • Resourceful, responsive, and willing to take ownership of both highly visible campaigns and less glamorous day-to-day tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment where priorities can shift and new opportunities emerge quickly.
  • Photography, short-form video, basic graphic design, or content production experience is a plus.
  • Experience in beverage alcohol, consumer packaged goods, tourism, outdoor lifestyle, or another consumer brand environment is a plus, but not required.
The Person Who Will Thrive in This Role
  • You are someone who likes making things happen. You can see the big picture of a campaign while also noticing that a paid campaign needs adjusting, an inbox needs a response, a newsletter needs to go out, or there is a great story unfolding on the brewery floor that should be captured.
  • You are equally comfortable working with words, content, campaign calendars, digital advertising platforms, and performance data. You can move between creative storytelling and the practical work of making sure campaigns are targeted, launched, monitored, and optimized effectively.
  • You are comfortable wearing multiple hats and do not need every assignment to fit neatly into a job description. You like connecting people with stories, turning ideas into finished work, and keeping a lot of small but important pieces moving.
  • Most importantly, you understand that great digital communication should feel human. You will help Alaskan Brewing show people not only what we make, but who we are, where we come from, and why Alaska continues to shape everything we do.
