ROLE SUMMARY

The State Marketing Manager, Ohio is responsible for leading the execution of the Ohio marketing strategy across all customer touchpoints, supporting 20+ dispensaries and driving traffic, revenue, and customer engagement. This role operates as a key execution partner to the Executive Director of Marketing, who sets the overarching state marketing strategy, priorities and investment direction for the state. The Manager is responsible for translating that strategy into actionable plans and ensuring high-quality, on-time execution across all channels. This position owns execution, activation and optimization of that strategy across all marketing touchpoints. The position has broad exposure across the full marketing ecosystem, including pricing and promotions, paid and earned media, customer journey and experience, retail marketing, digital, brand, product marketing, and third-party partnerships. This is a high-autonomy role in execution, requiring a proactive leader who can manage complexity, align cross-functional teams, and deliver results in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

SCOPE

This role will own end-to-end execution of marketing initiatives across Ohio, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities. This person will serve as the day-to-day marketing lead for the state, driving timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional coordination - ensuring marketing initiatives are fully integrated across all channels and customer touchpoints.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Execution of State Marketing Strategy

  • Translate strategic direction into clear, actionable marketing plans and campaigns
  • Lead planning, execution, and optimization of all state-level marketing initiatives
  • Ensure all initiatives are aligned with business goals, brand standards, and compliance requirements
  • Provide insights and recommendations to inform ongoing strategy refinement

Integrated Marketing Execution(Full Funnel)

  • Execute campaigns across all marketing touchpoints, including:
  • Pricing and promotions

Retail Marketing & Store Performance

  • Develop and execute localized marketing initiatives to drive store traffic, conversion, and revenue

Campaign Planning &Activation

  • Plan and execute traffic-driving campaigns, product launches, and activations

Paid Media, Earned Media & Partnerships

Performance & Optimization

  • Track and analyze performance across key metrics, including:
  • Traffic and conversion

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 6-10+ years of experience in marketing, retail marketing, or related fields
  • 3+ years of experience managing teams
  • Experience executing multi-channel, integrated marketing campaigns
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Proficiency in Smartsheet, PowerPoint, and marketing analytics tools
  • Cannabis experience a strong plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)

WORK SCHEDULE

45+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on business needs. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday. Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure requirements of this position can be fully met.
