Founding Engineer - Baton AI
Location: San Francisco, CA (In-Person)
Experience Level: 3+ years (Full-Stack Engineering)
About Baton AI
Baton AI (getbaton.ai) is building the enterprise automation platform for cross-application workflows. We're starting by helping solutions engineering and implementation teams at software companies automate customer onboarding and product setup - enabling them to deliver value faster and at scale. This is just our first wedge toward a broader vision of enterprise-wide, AI-powered automation.
We're backed by tier-1 VCs and growing fast. Looking for ambitious builders who move fast, take ownership, and want to help define the future of AI automation.
What You'll Do
  • Own core systems - Design and build key parts of our full-stack web application, API infrastructure, and AI-driven automation platform.
  • Work on cutting-edge tech - Work on complex technical challenges involving AI agents, prompt engineering, eval, monitoring, API, and browser automation.
  • Shape the product - Collaborate with early customers and the founding team to define our technical roadmap and deliver features that create real impact.
  • Move fast, learn fast - Prototype, experiment, and ship quickly in a high-trust, low-bureaucracy environment.

What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of full-stack engineering experience and love working with React and Typescript.
  • Proficiency in modern web application development - React/NextJS and Node.js. Understanding of Python and Elixir/functional programming is a plus.
  • Experience building rich-text editors (think Notion) or excited to take on that challenge.
  • Experience (or strong interest) in building AI/LLM-powered apps and workflow automation tools.
  • A product-minded engineer who cares about clean code and great UX.
  • Problem-solver who thrives on breaking down ambiguity and delivering fast.
  • Excited to work in person with us in San Francisco.

Why Join Us?
  • Founding team impact - Help define our culture, product, and technology from the ground up.
  • Customer-first ownership - See your work used and loved by real users from day one.
  • Competitive pay & early equity - Be rewarded for the value you create as we grow.
  • Work on real AI automation - Build a platform that solves meaningful problems with cutting-edge AI and automation.
  • In-person (hybrid) collaboration - We believe the best teams build faster together. We work in person in San Francisco.

Ready to build the future with us? Let's talk.
