Elixir Life Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Licensed Physical Therapist to join our team at our rehabilitation center in Union City, New Jersey. In this role, you will be instrumental in evaluating, planning, and executing treatment strategies for patients recovering from various physical ailments. Your expertise will teach clients techniques to manage pain and enhance mobility as they progress through their rehabilitation journey.

Work Environment

The physical therapy team operates in a supportive and collaborative rehabilitation center located in Union City, NJ. Your work will involve direct interactions with patients, caregivers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams, fostering a holistic approach to recovery in a facility designed for maximizing patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients’ conditions through comprehensive assessments which include physical examinations and patient interviews.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices to address pain and mobility issues.
  • Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques, including exercise prescription, manual therapy, and use of modalities, to facilitate optimal healing and recovery.
  • Track and document patient progress comprehensively, adjusting treatment plans based on ongoing assessments and patient feedback.
  • Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises to perform at home, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Guide patients in the usage of assistive devices and recommend modifications for their environments to enhance safety and ease of mobility.
  • Collaborate in a team of healthcare professionals to create and refine treatment approaches, ensuring a multidisciplinary strategy to patient care.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through educational workshops and participation in relevant professional organizations.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your clinical responsibilities will encompass a wide range of patients, including those recovering from orthopedic surgery, sports injuries, neurological disorders, and other ailments affecting movement and quality of life. This diversity requires not only clinical skill but also adaptability and empathy to effectively meet the varied needs of each patient.

Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
  • Current and valid DPT license issued by the state of New Jersey.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and the healthcare team.
  • Proficiency in utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation software.
  • A strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate patient and facility needs.
Preferred Experience
  • At least two years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in outpatient rehabilitation.
  • Experience in home care services is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities and emerging physical therapy practices.
