What are some of the unique challenges faced by professionals in Elite Performance roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in Elite Performance roles, such as performance coaches or trainers working with top athletes or executives, often face challenges like high-pressure environments, rapidly changing goals, and the need for constant innovation. They must balance individualized attention with team objectives and adapt quickly to feedback. To address these challenges, it's important to foster strong communication with stakeholders, stay updated on the latest performance methodologies, and prioritize ongoing professional development. Building resilience and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams also help ensure sustained success in this dynamic field.

What is an Elite Performance coach?

An Elite Performance coach is a specialist who helps individuals or teams achieve peak performance in their field, often working with athletes, executives, or creatives. They use techniques from sports psychology, physical training, and personal development to enhance skills, mental resilience, and overall effectiveness. These coaches typically design personalized training programs, set performance goals, and provide continuous feedback and support. Their main goal is to help clients unlock their full potential and consistently perform at their best in high-pressure environments.

To thrive as an Elite Performance Coach, you need a deep understanding of sports science, advanced training methodologies, and experience in athletic development, often supported by degrees in sports-related fields and relevant certifications (e.g., CSCS). Exceptional communication, motivational abilities, and adaptability help coaches build trust with athletes and tailor programs to individual needs. Job description

We're Sharp Performance
Sharp Performance is transforming mental wellness for those in high-demand professions, starting with public safety.
Our mission is to extend the service-life and health span of those who run toward danger: law enforcement, firefighters, and other frontline professionals. Through our mobile platform, we connect them with elite performance coaches trained in performance methods adapted from the U.S. Special Operations community.
This is not a lifestyle brand. This is not "tech for tech's sake." This is applied resilience, delivered where it matters most.
We're backed by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and investors behind Uber, Airbnb, PayPal, and Palantir. Partnerships are forming weekly. The mission is expanding quickly.
We are early. We are building. And success is not guaranteed.
If that excites you more than it scares you, then let's go.
The Opportunity
As Senior Product Manager, Member Experience, you'll own the entire member-facing mobile product end-to-end. You'll inherit a high-functioning engineering squad as well as the sprint process and the outcomes. This is a rare chance to do career-defining work on a product where impact is measured in lives, not metrics, where your decisions ship in weeks and directly shape whether a police officer, firefighter, or EMT gets help. As the team scales, there's a clear path to grow into a director-level role leading a team of your own.
How you'll make an impact
  • Own the member-facing product roadmap for our mobile app, end-to-end.
  • Run a high-functioning dev team's sprint process and keep Linear as the source of truth.
  • Turn PRDs into structured, estimated Linear projects with cross-team dependencies mapped.
  • Triage member and internal feedback into prioritized issues.
  • Become an expert on our technology, systems, and processes, able to fill any gap for members or teammates in a pinch.

The skillset you'll need to succeed
  • 6+ years of product management experience, ideally with consumer mobile apps.
  • Hands-on operating experience with the Claude ecosystem (Claude, Claude Code, agentic workflows).
  • Experience running agile/sprint processes with engineering teams.
  • Strong written communication-PRDs, specs, and stakeholder comms.
  • Fluency with modern PM tooling (Linear, Notion, Figma).
  • Detail-oriented, with a focus on amazing service to our members.
  • Comfort operating autonomously in an early-stage environment.
  • Bias toward action: if you see a problem, go ahead and solve it yourself when you can, calling in reinforcements when you need them.
  • Hybrid work in the Los Angeles area required.

Bonus Skills
  • A significant portfolio of personal projects you've built with agentic tools.
  • Experience mentoring more junior teammates.
  • A health, mental-health, or mission-driven product background.
  • Experience serving first responders or similar communities.

Why you'll love working here
At Sharp Performance, we're a passionate, driven team committed to making a real impact. As a fast-growing startup, we know our success begins with our people. That's why we offer a benefits package that supports your health, financial well-being, and professional growth:
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family
  • Life insurance, short-term disability insurance, long-term disability insurance
  • Flexible PTO
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Early equity in a VC-backed company
  • Access to Sharp's performance coaching platform

The pay range for this role is:
145,000 - 165,000 USD per year (LA Office)
