TK Elevator is currently seeking a Software Engineer III in Atlanta, GA.

Software Engineers are involved in the full life cycle of an application and are responsible for the design and implementation of applications’ build, release, deployment, and configuration activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Engineer software components to meet solution requirements including specifications, costs, quality, time, information security and data protection.
  • Ensure a departmental methodology is followed group wide to analyze and build required components and interfaces.
  • Implement new practices when original approach and assumptions are no longer valid. Manage high-level milestone accomplishments across multiple change activities. Recommend large-scale change interventions.
  • Involve key players in identifying operating needs, issues and solutions. Take and leads actions to enhance business function standards and performance with the participation of business and technical partners.
  • Select appropriate technical options for application design, optimizing the balance between cost and quality. Design data structures and build system structure models according to analysis results through modelling languages. Identify a common reference framework to validate with representative users, based upon development models. (e.g. iterative approach)
  • Code, debug, test, document and communicate product development stages. Select appropriate technical options for development such as reusing, improving or reconfiguration of existing components.
  • Interpret the application design to develop a suitable application in accordance with customer needs.
  • Integrate hardware, software or sub system components into existing system. Comply with established processes and procedures such as, configuration management and package maintenance.
  • Coordinate information gathering and reporting process. Review trends and compares to expectations. Conduct research to define problems and prepares responses to anticipated questions. Anticipate issues that are not readily apparent on the surface. Identify root causes and effects. Identify areas that need guidance in order to resolve complex issues. Anticipate the possible outcome of potential solutions.
  • Conduct discussions with all levels of colleagues and peer groups in ways that support troubleshooting and problem solving. Seek and shares relevant information, opinions, and judgments. Handle conflict empathetically. Explain the context of inter-related situations, ask probing questions, and solicit multiple sources of advice prior to acting.
  • Apply simple problem-solving methodologies to diagnose and solve operational and interpersonal problems. Determine potential causes of the problem and devise testing methodologies for validation. Show empathy and objectivity toward individuals involved in the issue.
  • Plan improvements that consider the critical, underlying and less apparent relationship between business, technology and systems platforms. Devise approaches that integrate system components for assigned clients. Conduct risk evaluations and resolve issues regarding significant changes and upgrades.
  • Consistently foster collaboration and respect among team members by addressing elements of the group process that impedes, or could impede, the group from reaching its goal
  • Account for the compatibility of existing and new modules to ensure system integrity, system interoperability and information security.
  • Verify and test system capacity and performance and documentation of successful integration.
  • Produce documents describing products, services, components or applications to establish compliance with relevant documentation requirements.
  • Requires working in lab and test tower, therefore all employees must be willing to adhere to all safety procedures and company safety standards.
  • Works under limited supervision for coaching, training, and skill development.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Programming/Systems or Computer Science or another related field. (Or equivalent work experience)
  • Working knowledge / experience with C#, C++, Python, JS.
  • Experience with HTML5, Angular Framework, and Java Script a plus.
  • Experience working with USB, RS232, CAN, and Ethernet.
  • Understanding of the elevator installation process a plus.
  • Embedded multiple threaded application development and/or PC application development tools a plus
  • Machine Learning and/or TinyML a plus
  • Working knowledge or RF technologies – ZigBee, Z‑Wave, LORA, Bluetooth, and WiFi a plus
  • Knowledge of the US Field organization, systems, process or procedures a plus.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Requires 2+ years of embedded software design experience.
