QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:  High School diploma or equivalency preferred

EXPERIENCE:  On the job training provided, Previous manufacturing or foundry experience preferred, Previous metal casting Xray experience preferred, State Radiation Safety Certification preferred

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  

Must have good vision/sight (must meet industry standards), including a color exam, depth perception, hearing, and hand-eye coordination, and dexterity. Reading, writing, above average math aptitude is necessary. Must be team-oriented, problem-solver, and self-motivated. Must have good vision, hearing, and hand-eye coordination. Must be able to follow written work instructions. Must be able to multitask and meet production goals and deadlines. Must be team-oriented and have good communication skills. Must have great attention to detail. Must be able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis. Must be able to grip, push, and pull with 80lb strength on a regular basis. Must be able to generate 15lbs of pinch strength on occasion. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical. Must be able to perform elevated work on an occasional basis. Some tasks require repetitive activities. Must be able to stand on concrete up to 8 hours. Must be willing to cross-train within the classification. Must be able to follow all safety rules and wear all required personal protective equipment. Must be willing to work any shift. Must be willing to be cross trained within the department classifications. Must pass (80% or above) a preliminary aptitude test.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Must be able to use metal casting Xray machines.
  • Must be able to shoot castings per specifications and customer required techniques.
  • Must be able to pass a state radiation safety certification to comply with state regulations for working with Xray units. 
  • Must be able to pass a 40-hour formal instructional class for certification. 
  • Must be able to understand multiple techniques for processing several different types of castings and customer requirements. 
  • Must complete required number of hours of on-the-job training for certification per company standard within the guidelines for maintaining state requirements at minimum.
  • Must have good math skills to determine angles and positioning of each casting to get the shot necessary to ensure the technique is being followed.
  • Must be able to be at elevated levels occasionally. 
  • Must be able to process and sort film.
  • Must be able to maintain workstation and ensure all tools are available to complete required tasks.
  • Must be able to recognize the casting on the film to ensure the technique is done incompliance with the written work instruction.
  • Must be able to work independently but have good communication skills to work with multiple departments including the processor, releasor, reader, and engineering.
