Elementary PE Teacher | Illinois PEL with PE Endorsement Required | Steger, Illinois | $50 - $55/hour | Contract
$50 to $55 an hour, health, dental and vision insurance available, a long term contract running from August 24, 2026 through June 5, 2027 and a principal known for genuinely supporting their staff.
Every child who discovers they love movement, sport and physical challenge does so because a PE teacher created the space for that discovery. A school district in Steger, Illinois is looking for an Elementary PE Teacher who understands that the gymnasium is not just a place to burn energy. It is where children build confidence, learn teamwork and develop habits that follow them for life.
You will teach physical education, fitness, health, rhythms, dance and individual and team sports to elementary students while adapting instruction to meet the needs of every child in the room.
What you need to bring:
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with Physical Education endorsement
  • Elementary PE certification is specifically required
  • Ability to demonstrate sports skills, movement strategies and physical activities
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel and lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs frequently
  • Available to start August 24, 2026
