Compensation: starting at $45,000 per year - commensurate with experience and our full-time salary schedule equivalent. Position includes health benefits and retirement benefits through Colorado Public Employee Retirement Association copera.org.

AXIS International Academy is a tuition-free, language immersion elementary charter school located in central Fort Collins at 2700 S. Lemay Ave. In addition to learning English Language Arts and Math in English, our students also learn a second language (French, Mandarin Chinese, or Spanish) as part of their school day.

Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, creative, and dedicated Elementary Math Teacher to join AXIS International Academy. The ideal candidate will inspire young learners, develop strong mathematical foundations, and create engaging learning experiences that leverage the Singapore Math approach. The Math Teacher will team teach with our current Math teacher.
Responsibilities:
  • Implement Singapore Math curriculum with understanding of its pedagogical approach
  • Utilize math manipulatives and hands-on learning tools to enhance student understanding of mathematical concepts
  • Deliver dynamic, interactive lessons that engage diverse learners and support students with varying mathematical skill levels.
  • Assess student progress through various methods including formative and summative assessments
  • Use data from assessments to guide instructional decisions
  • Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and mathematical development
  • Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages mathematical thinking and problem-solving
  • Maintain clear expectations for behavior, promote a safe and respectful learning environment
  • Collaborate with team members to plan lessons, analyze student data, and develop strategies for continuous improvement
  • Communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
  • Maintain accurate student records

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required, degree in Elementary Education or Mathematics Education preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an elementary setting.
  • Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and effective teaching strategies appropriate for elementary students
  • Excellent communication, organization and classroom management skills

Preferred Skills:
  • Previous teaching experience using Singapore Math curriculum
  • Bilingual capabilities in Spanish, Mandarin, or French
