Salary: This is a full-time, twelve (12) month position at 193 days with a salary range from $68,165.00 to $76,303.00.
Job Summary (Primary Purpose):
Create and provide professional development, technical assistance, and instructional coaching support to districts and campuses regarding the implementation of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) in Secondary Math. Have an instrumental role on researching, creating, and developing new procedures for Instructional Coaching to meet the needs of the clients. Assist in the implementation and streamlining of processes for the effectiveness and efficiency of the team.
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Education/Certificates):
• Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
• Texas Teacher Certification in Secondary Math
• At least three years' classroom experience in Secondary Math
• Thorough knowledge of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) in Secondary Math
• General/Working knowledge of platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and virtual learning platforms
• Ability to research and apply results in a client-centered way
• Experience as team lead or content lead in a district setting
• At least 3 years' Instructional coaching experience in a general coaching model or Math-specific content
• Ability to identify, define, and describe a coaching model example
• Ability to explain different types of instructional coaching
• Successful completion and working knowledge from the Jim Knight Institute
• Successful completion and working knowledge from the Achievement Teams Conference
• Understand the needs of the team and seek solutions to improve through conversations, marketing, and collaboration across teams
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Education/Certificates):
• Master's Degree in education or related field
• General/Working knowledge of current curriculum trends, instruction, technology, assessment and school systems
• General/Working Knowledge of best practice in English as a Second Language (e.g., Sheltered Instruction) and the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS)
• General/Working knowledge of instructional design, current curriculum trends, instruction, technology, assessment, project-based learning, and differentiation
• Familiarity with Response to Intervention and progress monitoring
• General/Working knowledge of data-driven strategies for improving student performance
Thorough knowledge of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) in Secondary Math
• General/Working knowledge of platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and virtual learning platforms
Major Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
• Serve as a representative of ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public
• Consistently develop, maintain, and deliver coaching programs, products, contracts, technical assistance, and services to clients as an instructional coach in Secondary Math
• Be a leader of sub-teams for strategic, long-range planning by analyzing data and stakeholder feedback to determine development and team needs and facilitate conversations
• Establish and maintain relationships with District Admin and teachers
• Work with Coordinator to design forms and reports for team efficiency and effectiveness
• Listen to district needs and direct them to Coordinator
• Stay up-to-date on trends and research (coaching, pedagogy, content) and apply that research in a creative, team-approach way
• Stay up-to-date on TEKS (changes, gaps, alignment)
• Take initiative on everyday tasks, requests, and team needs
• Mentor new staff; includes onboarding and ongoing support
• Work as a field supervisor for the Educator Certification Program by following compliance protocols, reports, and observation requirements set forth by Texas Education Agency
• Work as a trainer and facilitator of Professional Learning Communities
• Perform other duties as assigned
