Job description

Facility Technician

Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking a Facility Technician to join our team at our new state of art facility located in Casa Grande, AZ.  

As a Facility Technician, you will be able to work closely with the Plant Manager and be involved with nearly every aspect of facility waste management. This is a unique role that will give you exposure to RCRA and DOT compliance, waste treatment and processing, technical services, transportation, waste disposal coordination, ten-day transfer of hazardous waste and universal waste management. It is our hope that with the right training, mentoring, and experience, you will be able to grow and manage your own Triumvirate Waste Facility.

This position reports to the Plant Manager.

 Responsibilities: 

  • Waste processing and/or treatment in accordance with established procedures 
  • Container handling (palletizing; ringing, stacking and labeling). 
  • Learn and retain a basic knowledge of daily work practices 
  • Daily processing activities may include working with the following
    • Hazardous /non-hazardous organic and aqueous matrices 
    • Hazardous and non-hazardous solids/sludge 
    • Decommissioning or repacking of hazardous and non-hazardous lab packs 
    • Mercury and other elemental heavy metals and asbestos. 
    • Various chemical reagents (organic, aqueous, oxidizers, acids, bases, etc.) 
    • Industrial processing type equipment 
  • Waste and document preparation; regulatory and safety review 
  • Load & unload incoming & outgoing trucks 
  • Waste inventory management using Triumvirate designed software and computerized waste tracking system 
  • Become familiar with packaging guidelines and disposal facility selection 
  • Develop an understanding of OSHA regulations, Triumvirate's Health and Safety Practices, Triumvirate's Part B RCRA permit, and EPA regulations
  • Communicate effectively with end facilities as well as fellow employees to solve complex issues 
  • WOW! internal and external customers! 
  • Become forklift trained and be able to safely operate machinery 
  • Recommend management action to improve standard operating procedures. 
  • Initiation of non-conformance, incident and near miss reporting. 
  • Identify and requisition processing supplies and reagents. 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Basic Requirements: 

  • High School Degree or equivalent  
  • Basic knowledge of or desire to learn hazardous waste industry 
  • Must be able to come on site between 5:30 am EST to 3:00 pm PST 
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship 
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation 
  • Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC) 
  • Upon employment, you will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company's commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment 
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis 
  • Ability to work overtime on a regular basis 
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours within the work week (Monday through Friday) 
  • The Facility Technician frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for putting on and taking off personal protective equipment.  This is a safety-sensitive position.
  • Personality conducive to teamwork 

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Prior relevant industry experience 
  • Active HAZWOPER 24- or 40-hour certification 
  • Forklift experience 
  • CDL preferred but not required
