JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Penn State Harrisburg Food Services is seeking to fill cashier vacancies for the 2026 to 2027 Academic Year. This is a non-student opening with various shifts ranging from Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.; 12 :00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m to 10:00 p.m. or Saturday and Sunday's from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Job Duties
  • Serves as first point of contact for customers.
  • Provide guidance and responses to customer inquires; redirect or escalate when necessary.
  • Respond to complaints or issues and provide solutions in a timely manner.
  • Maintain knowledge of University policies, procedures, and practices to answer routine inquires or solve routine problems.
  • Operate equipment and/or computer systems within unit or department, including point of sale (POS) systems.
  • Receive payments and issue receipts, refunds, or change to customers.
  • Assist in the promotion of products and/or services to internal and external customers.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and repair needs as necessary.
