Job description

Overview

Lutron has an immediate opening for a highly motivatedSenior Electronics Technicianat ouroffice location in Boston, MA. 

Senior Electronics Technicians work in a hands-on environment as members of cross-functional engineering teams to support the development of new products. They work closely with some of the best engineers in the industry and can be involved in the product development process from initial concept through the development, testing, manufacturing, and support phases. 


Responsibilities
  • Conduct extensive design verification and testing of both analog and digital circuits utilizing the fundamentals of electronics, electricity, and basic wiring. 
  • Product testing, including user interfaces and communication protocols. 
  • Hardware prototyping, soldering, repairing, and troubleshooting circuit blocks. 
  • Setting up and performing product qualification testing in a laboratory setting. 
  • Developing test automation scripts for lab instruments. 
  • Assisting in transitioning designs from engineering into manufacturing. 
  • Coaching or mentoring other technicians. 
  • Executing process and product improvement projects. 

Qualifications
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or related field required
  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience testing and repairing power electronics at the component level + hands-on experience working with electronics, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), function generators, and other related equipment required. Previous experience mentoring junior technicians preferred.
  • Proficiency in core electrical principles (Ohm’s law, power calculations, series/parallel circuits) required
  • Proficiency in setting up and conducting validation tests and recording data to assist with engineering analysis required
  • Proficiency in soldering and reworking SMT and through-hole circuits required
  • Experience or knowledge of Python preferred
  • You are authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require Lutron to sponsor you for any work visa, such as an H-1B, either immediately or at any time in the future. Lutron does not offer work visa sponsorship for this position.

Starting pay: $65,000/yr to $77,500/yr plus overtime and bonus. Lutron's employee benefits include 401k match, health, dental, life insurance, paid vacation (amount based on tenure with the company), flexible spending accounts, and tuition reimbursement programs.
