Job description

Machine Operator – 2DX Inspection

About the Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented Machine Operator to run and maintain our 2DX X-ray inspection equipment as part of our electronics manufacturing team. In this role, you'll inspect printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) for solder joint quality, voiding, and component alignment to ensure every product meets our high reliability and customer standards.

What You'll Do

  • Operate 2DX X-ray inspection systems to verify solder quality and detect hidden defects.

  • Load and unload assemblies safely while following all ESD and handling procedures.

  • Review inspection images and flag nonconforming conditions such as bridging, insufficient solder, or voiding.

  • Work closely with Quality, Process Engineering, and Rework teams to communicate findings and assist with defect verification.

  • Maintain machine calibration and cleanliness to ensure consistent imaging quality.

  • Follow production schedules, build documentation, and quality standards (IPC-A-610 Class 3).

  • Support continuous improvement by reporting recurring issues or trends.

  • Perform basic maintenance and notify supervisors or engineers of any equipment issues.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in electronics manufacturing or PCB inspection preferred.

  • Familiarity with 2DX/X-ray or AOI/AXI equipment is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret inspection images accurately.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented production environment.

  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to quality.

  • Willingness to learn and follow established procedures and safety standards.

Pay Range
$22—$26 USD

ITAR/EAR Compliance: Due to the nature of the work performed at Rocket EMS, this position may require access to export-controlled technical data or technology.
