We are looking for a Senior Electronics Commodity Manager to join our team in one of today's most exciting technologies. This role will report to the Senior Director, Commodities and based in Newark, DE. This is a fully on-site, in office role.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the short- and medium-term strategies for assigned commodities. Ensure downward alignment through supplier strategies as well as upward alignment to long term sourcing and fulfillment strategies.
  • Ensure availability of materials to support production and order fulfillment. Execution of Business Continuity Plan by identifying and mitigating risks to supply.
  • Drive cost reduction through negotiation, cost reduction projects, benchmarking, cost modeling, should-be costing, and make vs buy.
  • Support release of prototype or qualification material orders and ensure timely delivery.
  • Manage supplier performance related to quality, continuous process improvement, qualification, and reduction in cost of poor quality.
  • Develop new suppliers, contract manufacturers utilizing strong project management skills and cross functional collaboration.
  • Manage or conduct supplier audits, scorecards, and QBR. Driver supplier
  • Work closely with contract manufacturers to support technology transfer and DFM activities.
  • Ensure seamless transition of changes including technology, ECN, NPI and minimize related E&O.
  • Facilitate problem solving groups to meet the current and future needs of the company.
  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships to drive success. Teams may include colleagues from procurement, engineering, quality, manufacturing, finance, marketing, sales, product management, and other departments as needed.

Skills and Experience:

  • BS/MS/MBA in Electrical or Electronics Engineering/Technology or Supply Chain; experience in mechanical design a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain, ideally working with electronics commodities.
  • Technical background with knowledge of electronics components (magnetics, semiconductor components) and cables, contacts and connectors.
  • Experience in managing electronics contract manufacturers, Master Supplier Agreements, pricing negotiations and sourcing strategy.
  • Strong verbal, written communication skills in English required; Spanish preferred.
  • Must be proficient in PowerPoint and Excel (formulas and macros).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and purchasing/planning functions desired.
  • Ability to work closely with vendors under a rapid change environment.
  • Strong project management, with ability to prioritize and deliver multiple under tight deadlines and to complete assignments.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy character traits needed.
  • High energy and self-motivated person required.
  • Team player who can foster a collaborative work ethic and keep the team on task.
  • Role requires minimum of 25% travel (domestic or international depending on commodity or supplier responsibility).
