Job Description

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to oversee internal and external product development in support of the SolidTron product lineup. The qualified candidate will oversee a multi-discipline engineering team including mechanical, firmware, electrical, manufacturing, and test engineering. Internal product development focuses on the support of home-grown test equipment to increase automation, accuracy, and/or increasing test capacity for the discrete lineup of SolidTron devices. External development supports customer-specific application requirements in pulse power systems.

What You'll Do:

  • Managing a diverse, cross-functional group of engineers across a broad spectrum of deliverables.
  • Establishing measurable group and individual staff goals, aligning to the SolidTron product group's performance objectives
  • Schedule and prioritize engineering resources to support delivery of internal and external products.
  • Continually assist Product Management and Business Development in their customer support requirements.
  • Work closely with Product Management and Operations concerning product and material costing.
  • Implement and maintain continuous tracking mechanisms for reporting on material and human resource costs for engineering projects.
  • Interact with Test and Assembly functional groups to support internal processing needs and performance efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with Assembly team to effectively utilize shared resources for continued product development without production interruptions.
  • Work with Supply Chain to ensure both complete and current designs, and documentation for components/materials are available to support procurement needs.
  • Integral involvement toward qualification, validation, and certification activities

What You Need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, or related field)
  • 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams and project management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience goal setting, evaluating staff performance and conducting staff reviews.
  • Fluency with a higher degree of competency with SolidWorks, or equivalent high-tech CAD program.
  • Minimum (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum (3) years of experience with tiered MRP software, specifically SAP.
  • Background in electrical engineering strongly preferred, power electronics highly desired.
  • Strong leadership and reporting skills.
  • Strong MS Office skills, specifically Excel.
  • Experience with preparation and delivery of project presentations.

Preferred Skills:

  • High-voltage and power electronics experience, highly desired.
  • Familiarity with Power Query and/or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Altium.
  • Customer interaction experience, a plus.
