Job description

Amentum is seeking an Electronic Technician I to join our team at Eielson, AFB, Alaska. This is an entry level position that involves applying technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions. This position works under the technical guidance of a supervisor or higher-level technician, and work product is audited for accuracy. The duties and requirements listed below are not mutually exclusive. Must be able to obtain and maintain the required US Government security clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Perform work on various types of electronic equipment and related devices through a combination of installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, construction, and testing * Operate and maintain electronic transmitting and receiving equipment, digital and analog computers, industrial measuring and controlling equipment, microwave amplifiers and transmission lines, high-voltage power supplies and keying circuits, indicators and displays, and antenna positioning systems * Apply technical knowledge of electronic principles to solve basic problems using diagrams, schematics, engineering data and test equipment * Diagnose equipment malfunctions and effect repairs to restore equipment to required operating condition * Manipulate computer keyboards and view and interpret computer displays * Troubleshoot to the component level and make needed repairs * Identify and report corrections/improvements to technical data * Identify and report product quality/material deficiencies * Identify and report supply discrepancies * Conduct inventories and maintain accountability records, including ancillary and support equipment * Assist with inspection requirements and implementing approved configuration changes * Perform equipment status reporting, maintenance data collection and job documentation * Ensure compliance with Amentum's Quality Control and Safety Programs * Perform other duties as assigned MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: * Position requires a high school diploma plus successful completion of an accredited college or technical school in Electronics or equivalent military training and a minimum of one (1) to two (2) years' experience in electronics * Basic knowledge of DC and AC electronics, digital logic, solid-state devices and circuits * Applicants must be able to demonstrate basic and some advanced technical knowledge of electrical and electronic principles and devices, interpret circuit diagrams to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents, as well as demonstrate knowledge in the use of test instruments such as Oscilloscopes, signal generators, voltage and frequency meters, and computer control equipment and analyzers * Familiarity with electronic, electromechanical and computer systems * Familiarity with test equipment used to maintain and repair equipment * Basic troubleshooting skills * Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance * Must possess a valid driver's license and must meet all requirements for assigned vehicles * Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs * Ability to speak, read, and write English * Ability to work indoors, outdoors and travel to remote locations * Reside near or be willing to relocate to the vicinity of Fairbanks/Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska DESIRED REQUIREMENTS: * Familiarity with threat systems is desired * Ability to read Cyrillic is desired * Radar experience desired Compensation Details:
