Electronic Security Technician
Columbia, Maryland

Position Summary:
SCD Information Technology LLC is seeking candidates for the position of Electronic Security Technician. This position is responsible for installing, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting intercom, intrusion alarm systems, network infrastructure, access control, and CCTV. A successful candidate should be able to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, submittals, schematics, and diagrams. Maintaining and repairing electronic security equipment, including alarm systems, industrial security systems, network-based video surveillance, in addition to identifying and troubleshooting basic network-related problems on hardware or software.
Responsibilities:
  • Experience providing support of commercial electronic security systems.
  • Strong analytical skills for trouble shooting and problem solving.
  • Strong working knowledge of hand tools, power tools and specific tools of the trade.
  • Knowledge of low voltage cabling techniques and application. 
  • Physical ability to work on ladders, in elevated heights and lift over 50lbs.
  • Excellent communications and customer interaction skills.
  • Prepare drawings documenting configuration changes/as build conditions at each site. 
  • Prepare/fulfill site installations and test reports.
  • Provide team leadership as needed to co-workers and sub trades on scaled projects.
  • Ability to train co-workers and end users as qualified.
  • Work effectively while planning and problem solving for expedient results. 

Requirements:
  • Securing and maintaining Industry Licensing for any needed jurisdiction. 
  • Provide reliable transportation to report to jobsites - as needed.
