Position: Biomedical Technologist

Department: Clinical Engineering

Salary: $36.84 to $50.24 per hour

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the IMIT and Clinical Engineering Manager, the Biomedical Technologist will participate and contribute to the medical equipment management program of the department at the Brockville General Hospital. The technologist will repair, maintain and conduct preventive maintenance on various electro medical equipment and/or hemodialysis and water treatment systems to ensure safe and proper function for both patients and users.

Within this role the employee is accountable for contributing to the delivery of the BGH strategy. As an employee, one must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for actively promoting and supporting patient and family centered engagement and care in all we do.

Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Completion of an accredited Biomedical/Clinical Engineering Technology diploma or Biomedical/Clinical Engineering degree preferred
  • Canadian Biomedical Engineering Certification is an asset
  • Experienced in the use of computers in a Windows environment such as spreadsheet applications and computerized databases.

  • Evidence of strong organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is essential.
  • Demonstrated technical intuition and highly developed problem-solving skills.
