In the Systems Engineer role, you will be directly responsible for all parts of a system or sub-system, figuring out how these components work together to deliver an amazing user experience within Apple Vision products. You will be involved in conceptualizing and proposing hardware and software implementation approaches for user-facing features, defining comprehensive specification trees, and performing detailed error budget analyses.Your responsibilities will include working with various cross-functional partners to assign budgets and making data-driven trade-offs across design, process, and calibration aspects to deliver a system that meets all product use case requirements. This is an extremely cross-functional role where you will collaborate closely with experts from diverse domains including Product Design, Electrical Engineering (EE), System Architecture, Calibration, Algorithms, and Reliability to bring groundbreaking experiences to life.
MS in a relevant field (EE, physics, systems engineering, mechatronics, CS) 6+ years of work experience in a product-based company, focusing on system engineering or similar roleHands-on experience in defining system-level specifications for complex hardware and software componentsStrong system-level thinking with a demonstrated ability to decompose complex architectures and ambiguous problems in well-defined, manageable components, interfaces, and requirementsProficiency in analyzing system trade-offs (e.g., performance, power, thermal, cost, form factor, manufacturability) to achieve optimal solutions based on product requirementsExperience in designing spec trees, performing spec decomposition, and conduct error budget analyses applying statistical methods and modelsProficiency in system modeling, simulation, and data analysis using tools such as MATLAB or Python to predict performance, validate design choices, and simplify complex system understanding.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present highly technical topics and deep dives to leadership teams.
