ABOUT THE ROLE

This position is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing production line equipment, facilities, and associated systems in a timely manner. The role supports overall plant operations by maintaining mechanical and/or electrical systems, including hydraulic and pneumatic components and low- and high-voltage systems (up to 480V), depending on assignment.

The position operates in both office and manufacturing environments and requires strict adherence to safety standards, including Lock Out Tag Out procedures. The individual is expected to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and work effectively within a team environment while taking directions from a supervisor or manager.

Work Environment:

  • Office Environment: Artificial lighting, computers, telephones, desks, and temperature-controlled conditions.
  • Manufacturing Environment: Artificial lighting, machine and equipment noise, welding exhaust, metal-working fluid mist, non-controlled temperatures, and required use of PPE.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and correctly repair production line equipment in a timely manner.
  • Diagnoses, troubleshooting, and correctly repair facilities and associated equipment in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and work with low- and high-voltage systems (up to 480V).
  • Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, schematic drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Use electrical test equipment and powered/non-powered tools proficiently.
  • Maintain computer literacy as required for the role.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Understand and comply with Lock Out Tag Out procedures and safe practices.
  • Review and initiate continuous improvement projects.
  • Work effectively in a team environment and take directions from supervisor or manager.
  • Participate in continued education when offered.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

  • G.E.D. or High School Diploma required.
  • Technical School or Apprenticeship training is a plus but not required.
  • Documented On-the-Job training is a plus but not required.
  • 3-5 years in a maintenance electrician role in a manufacturing setting preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, safety rules, and operating manuals in English.
  • Ability to write and understand simple correspondence in English.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to recognize operating errors and take appropriate action.
  • Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Good attitude
  • Proficient in the use of basic hand tools.
  • Self-starter; motivated, trustworthy, and dependable.
  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ALL 3 SHIFTS.

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting for short periods to complete required reports
  • Standing and walking for extended periods
  • Moving throughout office and manufacturing areas
  • Pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs. (with or without assistance)
  • Manual dexterity for computer work
