Role Overview:
We are looking to hire a detailed-oriented, driven, and resourceful Mechanical Technician to assume responsibilities for multiple Microgrid generators. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of performing maintenance on power generation equipment, electrical experience as a plus. The Mechanical Technician will ensure generators are maintained, serviced, and operate for customer requirements for on demand electricity. The position is remote in the field with an average of 75% travel and will report to the Reliability Program Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform skilled repairs of Volvo Penta Diesel Engines (16 L), Power Solutions International (21.9 L) and Marathon generator ends, as well as various voltage control and synchronizing equipment.
  • Be proficient at learning and utilizing manufacturer specific software to troubleshoot and diagnose engine and control system problems.
  • Facilitate technical support and liaison with equipment manufacturers.
  • Perform scheduled, preventive, or predictive generator maintenance tasks.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair tasks.
  • Perform periodic inspections to identify maintenance needs.
  • Work in potentially confined areas of high heat and humidity, and cold.
  • Follow company process and procedures for verbal/written communications.
  • Utilize all current technology for communication, documentation, and research.
  • Ensure Safe Operation of electrical equipment by enforcing company and industry standards.
  • Safely prepare, operate, and maintain motor vehicles for the purpose of conducting company business.
  • Additional responsibilities may be added at the direction of Company's management.

Requirements
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
  • Experience - at least 3 Years Mechanical and/or Electrical
  • Education Level - preferred College or Equivalent Training (i.e. Military)
  • Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport materials, equipment, or personnel to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Successfully pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check to ensure compliance with company standards and safe driving practices.
  • Attention to Detail- Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attention to detail.
  • Computer skills- Uses computers, software applications, databases and automated systems to accomplish work.
  • Flexibility-Technicians have a rotating on call schedule. Must be available to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Must be able to be on your feet for multiple hours a day.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder and lift 50 lbs safely.
  • Integrity- Work efficiently and effectively when with or without supervision.
