Job Summary:
Helion is a fusion power company based in Everett, WA, focused on building the world's first fusion power plant. They are seeking a Product (Frontend UX/UI) Software Engineer to design and implement user interfaces for fusion machine operators, enhancing their workflows and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Blend frontend engineering and UX/UI design skills to create operator-facing applications.
โ€ข Embed yourself with machine operators to deeply understand workflows, tools, and challenges.
โ€ข Work with other software vendors to integrate other applications into our product.
โ€ข Translate workflows into prototypes, mockups, and then production-ready code.
โ€ข Consolidate and unify fragmented applications into coherent user experiences.
โ€ข Build real-time dashboards, alerts, and visualizations that improve situational awareness.
โ€ข Collaborate with backend/data engineers to integrate complex real-time data streams.
โ€ข Establish and maintain design patterns, component libraries, and UX standards.
โ€ข Advocate for operator needs within the broader product and software teams.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Strong experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular).
โ€ข Proficiency in JavaScript/Typescript, HTML, and CSS.
โ€ข Ability to translate user workflows into intuitive UX/UI designs.
โ€ข Experience with prototyping and design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.).
