Position Summary

The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity. This role supports projects across multiple job sites and requires frequent travel (50%โ€“75%). Candidates with data center experience (critical power, UPS, generators, switchgear, and structured grounding/bonding) are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including conduit, wiring, panels, transformers, lighting, and control systems in accordance with NEC and local codes.

  • Perform electrical testing and troubleshooting using appropriate meters and diagnostic tools; identify root causes and implement safe repairs.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, one-lines, schematics, and specifications to execute work accurately.

  • Install and terminate equipment such as switchgear, breakers, panels, motor controls, VFDs, and distribution systems.

  • Support critical environments (when applicable) including UPS systems, generators, PDUs/RPPs, grounding/bonding, and high-reliability electrical infrastructure.

  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements including LOTO, arc-flash procedures, PPE use, and job hazard analysis.

  • Coordinate with foremen, project managers, and other trades to meet schedules and maintain workflow on active job sites.

  • Document work performed, material usage, and field changes; communicate progress and issues promptly.

  • Travel to regional/out-of-state sites as assigned (50%โ€“75%), including occasional overnight stays and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program preferred.

  • 3+ years of commercial/industrial electrical experience (journeyman-level experience preferred).

  • Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and electrical safety standards.

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, one-line diagrams, and electrical schematics.

  • Experience with conduit bending, wire pulls, terminations, and electrical installations in active construction environments.

  • Data center experience is a plus (critical power systems, switchgear, UPS, generators, grounding/bonding, cable tray).

  • Valid driverโ€™s license and ability to meet travel requirements (50%โ€“75%).

  • Ability to work safely at heights, in confined spaces, and lift/carry materials as required.

  • Strong communication skills, dependable attendance, and the ability to work independently or as part of a crew.
