Job description

ELECTRICIAN
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• P rovide skilled electrical expertise to subordinates and their crews in all phases of construction.
• Take direction from foreman, provide information for coordination of work schedules, and suggest ideas to achieve
work goals.
• Plan layout; install and repair wiring and electrical apparatus.
• Inspect wiring and fixtures for conformance to specifications or local and national electrical codes.
• Adhere to strict production schedules and work hour requirements.
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders on assigned projects.
• Analyze and resolve work problems or assist co-workers in solving work problems.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures using testing devices.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment.
• Inspect material for quality before and after installation.
• Ensure proper transfer of equipment and material.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools and shop machinery in conjunction with proper training.
• Operate company vehicles, forklift, and aerial lift in conjunction with proper certification.
• Mentor and provide guidance to apprentices and helpers to improve their skills.
• Perform daily tasks in a safe and workmanlike manner in accordance with company policies.
• Follow all client, company, and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
• Ensure all employees follow proper safety procedures and policies, including Pre-Task Plans, Toolbox Talks, and jobsite
specific requirements.
• Inform Safety Managers and Superintendents/Supervisors of all safety violations immediately.
• Other duties, as assigned.
• Employee may be required to work extended hours (more than 8 hours per day), weekends, and holidays. Employee will
be compensated based on guidelines in the Fair Labor Standards Act.
QUALIFICATIONS
• H igh school diploma or equivalent and 5 years' experience of skilled electrical work.
• Favorable driver's record/valid license.
• Ability to maintain constructive relationships with those contacted during work activities.
• Skilled in reading, writing and math.
• Principles and procedures of record keeping.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to prepare labor and material estimates.
• Ability to read blueprints; and knowledge of electrical applications.
• Must successfully complete background check and drug/alcohol testing.
