JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking experienced Journeyman Electricians to support maintenance and facility operations at a large industrial automotive manufacturing facility in Roanoke, Indiana.

The Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will have strong industrial electrical experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.

IMPORTANT: Candidates must possess a valid Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician license.

Position 1:
Tuesday Saturday
6:30 AM 3:00 PM

Position 2:
Sunday Thursday
6:30 AM 3:00 PM

Position 3:
Tuesday Saturday
2:30 PM 11:00 PM

COMPENSATION

Starting wage: $38.00 per hour
Wage increases to $43.00 per hour once the employee enters the union
Union position with additional benefits and opportunities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installations throughout an industrial manufacturing facility.
Diagnose electrical problems involving machinery, equipment, controls, motors, panels, circuits, and facility systems.
Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, conduit, panels, disconnects, lighting, and electrical distribution systems.
Troubleshoot electrical controls and motor circuits.
Perform preventive and predictive electrical maintenance.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Use electrical test equipment to diagnose electrical issues.
Respond to electrical maintenance calls and minimize equipment and facility downtime.
Perform electrical repairs and modifications in accordance with applicable electrical codes and safety requirements.
Assist with installation and startup of new electrical equipment and systems.
Work with other skilled trades and maintenance personnel to troubleshoot complex equipment issues.
Complete maintenance work orders and document work performed using a CMMS/work order system.
Follow all OSHA, NFPA, company, and facility safety procedures.
Perform lockout/tagout procedures when required.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Communicate equipment issues, repair status, and potential concerns to supervisors and other maintenance personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Journeyman Electrician license OR Master Electrician license required.
Previous industrial electrical maintenance experience required.
Automotive manufacturing or heavy industrial experience strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, motors, and industrial equipment.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
Experience troubleshooting 480V electrical systems preferred.
Experience with motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, and industrial control systems preferred.
Knowledge of electrical codes and safe work practices.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a skilled maintenance team.
Ability to safely use electrical testing equipment and hand/power tools.
Ability to work the assigned shift and required weekend schedule.
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or electrical training preferred.
