Job Title: Electrical TechnicianJob Description

This role focuses on assembling, wiring, and testing large palletizing machines in a production environment. You will build and wire control panels, run and terminate wiring, and ensure all electrical components meet quality and safety standards. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints, and confidence working with electrical systems and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble and wire large palletizing machines according to engineering specifications and standards.
  • Install new wiring and housing within machinery, including routing and terminating wiring in control panels.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics to guide installations and wiring layouts.
  • Use hand tools and power tools regularly to perform electrical assembly, panel building, and machine wiring tasks.
  • Perform routine electrical duties using specialized equipment such as overhead cranes and other production machinery.
  • Inspect parts and completed assemblies to verify quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
  • Use diagnostic equipment to test electrical systems and verify safe, full functionality of installed systems.
  • Follow established safety protocols and safe wiring practices when working with live circuits and electrical components.
  • Handle electrical components safely and ensure proper grounding, routing, and protection of wiring.
  • Take responsibility for the throughput and quality of the product, meeting or exceeding defined production and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure timely completion of machines and projects.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly store tools, equipment, and materials.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience with machine wiring and electrical assembly, including more than panel building alone.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints accurately.
  • Strong hands-on skills in control panel wiring and panel building.
  • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for electrical assembly work.
  • Ability to safely handle electrical components and apply safe wiring practices.
  • Capability to use diagnostic equipment to test electrical systems and verify proper operation.
  • Physical ability to lift more than 50 pounds as required by the role.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to function safely and effectively in a production shop environment.
  • Strong industry experience in machine wiring sufficient to pass a union-related electrical test, if applicable.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Ranken Electrical Degree or similar electrical education is strongly preferred.
  • Experience as an electrical assembler, electrician, or panel builder in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Background in machine building and control panel construction.
  • Familiarity with overhead cranes and other shop equipment used in handling large assemblies.
  • Comfort working relatively independently while coordinating with a broader assembly team.
