Job description

VDC Manager — Lead Digital Construction for a Top Southwest GC

Reno, NV | Full-Time, Exempt | $110,000 – $145,000

The Opportunity

Digital construction only creates value when someone connects the model to the field — and that someone is you. Our client, one of the Southwest's largest general contractors with 50 years of building and projects exceeding $100M, is hiring a VDC Manager to lead Virtual Design & Construction across assigned projects and regional initiatives. You'll own the BIM Execution Plan, run multi-trade coordination, manage and mentor a VDC team, and be the bridge between digital strategy and what superintendents actually build.

Why You'll Love It

  • Own the function: BIMx plans, coordination leadership, team management, and standards are yours
  • Field-first mandate: Deliverables measured by real value on site, not model aesthetics
  • Modern toolkit: 4D planning, reality capture, drone workflows, model-based layout
  • Full benefits + Nevada: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, parental leave, PTO — no state income tax

What You'll Do

  • Lead VDC implementation from preconstruction through turnover on assigned projects
  • Develop, manage, and enforce project-specific BIM Execution Plans
  • Facilitate multi-trade coordination and clash resolution meetings; prioritize issue resolution
  • Drive constructability reviews that mitigate risk before work reaches the field
  • Manage and mentor VDC Engineers and Coordinators; QA/QC team deliverables, balance workloads, train new staff
  • Support sequencing, site logistics, and phasing with 3D/4D models; validate models against real-world conditions
  • Collaborate with field solutions and layout teams on model-based layout and deployment
  • Enforce and refine company BIM standards, data quality, version control, and model governance
  • Serve as the VDC point of contact for project teams and external partners; support pursuits and executive presentations with visuals and insights

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related — or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years in construction technology, BIM/VDC, or related delivery roles
  • Proven BIM coordination leadership on large commercial projects
  • Demonstrated management experience within a VDC/BIM team
  • Preferred: Autodesk AEC Collection (Revit, Navisworks) and Revizto mastery, 4D tools (Synchro, Fuzor), reality capture (laser scanning, photogrammetry), Part 107 drone license, strong grasp of superintendent workflows
  • Strategic thinking with strong execution, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills

Drug-free workplace. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
