Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Apprentice Electrician (Shutdown Work) in Lock Haven, PA. The Apprentice Electrician is responsible for supporting the installation and maintenance of electrical systems during shutdown work in Lock Haven, PA. This role requires the ability to assist with conduit installation, wiring, and terminations while adhering to strict safety protocols. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative in learning the trade and work cooperatively with journeyman electricians and other skilled trades.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $23 to $35 Per Hour BOE

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the installation of conduit, cable tray, wiring, lighting systems, panels, devices, and electrical equipment.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints, electrical drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Bend and install EMT, PVC, and rigid conduit with limited supervision.
  • Pull wire and cable using industry-standard methods and equipment.
  • Assist with the terminations of panels, switches, receptacles, lighting, motors, and control devices.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and testing of electrical systems under the supervision of a journeyman.
  • Utilize electrical testing equipment such as multimeters and continuity testers safely and correctly.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Participate in daily job briefings, safety meetings, and training activities to ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Accurately complete time sheets and other required project documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as an electrical apprentice or in a similar industrial setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to bend and install EMT, PVC, and rigid conduit.
  • Basic proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of standard methods for pulling wire and cable.
  • Familiarity with electrical testing equipment such as multimeters.
  • Possession of basic hand tools and necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Reliable transportation to the jobsite in Lock Haven, PA.
  • Strong initiative in learning the electrical trade and improving technical workmanship.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and poles to perform electrical work.
  • Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
  • Must be able to work in inclement weather and industrial environments.
  • Must be able to see and distinguish color-coded wiring.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work at heights and in environments with loud noises.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated pay range for this position is $23 to $35 per hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
