What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Electrical Revit Remote professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Electrical Revit Remote professional, you need expertise in electrical design principles, Revit software proficiency, and a relevant engineering or technical degree. Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools, NEC (National Electrical Code) standards, and experience with collaborative project management platforms are typically required. Strong attention to detail, effective communication, and self-motivation are crucial soft skills for excelling in a remote environment. These skills ensure accurate electrical designs, seamless remote collaboration, and successful project delivery in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry.

How do Electrical Revit professionals typically collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a remote setting?

Electrical Revit professionals working remotely often collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, and other MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) specialists using cloud-based platforms and BIM coordination tools. Regular virtual meetings and shared model environments, such as Autodesk BIM 360, enable real-time updates, clash detection, and feedback integration. Clear communication and version control are essential to ensure that all team members are aligned on project goals, design changes, and deadlines. Successful remote collaboration also relies on proactive problem-solving and effective documentation to maintain project quality and workflow efficiency.

What is an Electrical Revit Remote job?

An Electrical Revit Remote job involves designing and modeling electrical systems for buildings using Autodesk Revit software, all while working remotely. Professionals in this role create detailed electrical layouts, schematics, and documentation for construction projects. They collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders through digital communication tools. This position is ideal for those skilled in electrical design and proficient in Revit who wish to work from a location outside the traditional office environment.

Can I work remotely as an electrical engineer?

Electrical Revit professionals can often work remotely, especially if their tasks involve design, modeling, and drafting using Revit software. Remote work depends on the employer, project requirements, and the need for collaboration or site visits, but many companies now offer flexible or fully remote positions for electrical engineers skilled in Revit. Strong communication skills and proficiency with cloud-based collaboration tools are beneficial for remote roles.

What is the difference between Electrical Revit Remote vs Electrical CAD Technician?

AspectElectrical Revit RemoteElectrical CAD Technician
CredentialsRevit certification, technical electrical backgroundAutoCAD certification, electrical drafting experience
Work EnvironmentRemote, collaborative with design teamsOffice or on-site, drafting-focused
Industry UsageDesign and modeling in BIM workflowsDrafting and detailing in CAD software

Electrical Revit Remote professionals focus on building information modeling (BIM) using Revit software, often working remotely with design teams. Electrical CAD Technicians primarily create detailed electrical drawings using AutoCAD, usually in an office setting. While both roles require electrical knowledge, Revit Remote specialists emphasize 3D modeling and BIM integration, whereas CAD Technicians focus on precise 2D drafting. Understanding these differences helps employers and job seekers identify the right fit for project needs.

Job description

ย
About the role

Armada builds and deploys ruggedized, modular, containerized data centers that bring high-density AI compute to locations where traditional data centers cannot go. We are scaling production across multiple international markets, with deployments ranging from multi-megawatt GPU clusters to large-scale multi-unit campuses at up to 400 kW/rack.ย

Armada needs an Electrical Designer / Drafter to work directly under the Senior Electrical Design Engineer on the power and integration team. You will turn redlines, sketches, and engineering direction into clean, buildable, submittal-ready drawings. This is a production role - drawings you produce will be released to manufacturing partners, reviewed by AHJs, and used by commissioning crews in the field.ย

Location. This role is remote.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Produce and maintain electrical drawing packages for modular containerized data centers: single-line diagrams, panel schedules, equipment layouts, grounding plans, raceway and cable tray routing, conduit schedules, nameplate/label schedules, and details.ย
  • Work from engineer-provided redlines, sketches, and load calculations to produce issue-ready drawings on Armada title blocks and drawing standards.ย
  • Maintain drawing standards: layer conventions, block libraries, symbol libraries, title blocks, and revision control across multiple product variants.ย
  • Coordinate with mechanical, structural, controls, and fire protection drafters/designers to resolve interdisciplinary conflicts - routing, clearances, penetrations - before drawings are released.ย
  • Assemble and manage submittal packages for review: vendor cut sheets, redline markups, and response documents.ย
  • Incorporate redlines from reviewers (internal and external), manage revision clouds, and maintain a clean revision history.ย
  • Produce as-built drawings from field markups after commissioning.ย
  • Support the engineering team with takeoffs: cable lengths, conduit quantities, breaker counts, and bill-of-material extracts from the drawings.ย

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree, technical certificate, or equivalent hands-on experience in electrical drafting, CAD design, or electrical technology.ย
  • 4+ years of electrical drafting experience, with exposure to power distribution drawings (not just lighting/low-voltage).ย
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, or both. Comfort with external references, sheet sets, and large coordinated drawing packages.ย
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu for markup, stamping, and submittal review workflows.ย
  • Working familiarity with the NEC (NFPA 70) and the ability to read and interpret manufacturer submittals (UPS, switchgear, transformers, PDUs, batteries, generators).ย
  • Ability to read mechanical and structural drawings well enough to catch conflicts (routing, clearances, penetrations) before drawings go out.ย
  • Attention to detail. Clean sheets, correct revisions, consistent symbols, no orphaned linework.ย
  • Clear written communication. You will be responding to RFIs and documenting revisions.ย

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Experience with containerized or modular/prefabricated data center, power skid, or e-house drawing packages.ย
  • Exposure to international electrical standards beyond the NEC (IEC-based national codes) and the ability to produce drawing sets that meet them.ย
  • Experience with 480 V, medium-voltage, and other international low-voltage distribution systems.ย
  • Familiarity with Revit families/parameters for MEP content creation.ย
  • Experience producing documentation for AHJ review and large-scale energy storage permitting.ย
  • Familiarity with PDM / document control systems and a disciplined approach to revision management.ย
  • Experience preparing as-built and O&M drawing sets.ย

Compensation

For U.S. Based candidates: To ensure fairness and transparency, the starting base salary range for this role for candidates in the U.S. are listed below, varying based on location experience, skills, and qualifications.

We use a geographic pay structure based on cost-of-labor markets.ย

  • Tier 2 (most U.S. metro areas): $70,400 - $88,000
  • Tier 3 (other cities): $66,880 - $83,600

Final compensation will beย determinedย by experience, scope, and level, and may vary from the posted range.ย

In addition to base salary, this role will also be offered equity and subsidized benefits (details available upon request).

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary and equity
  • Medical, dental, and vision (subsidized cost)
  • Health savings accounts (HSA), flexible spending accounts (FSA), and dependent care FSAs (DCFSA)
  • Retirement plan options, including 401(k) and Roth 401(k)
  • Unlimited paid time off (PTO)
