Relay Technician Job Description

The Relay Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and testing of electrical relays. They work in a variety of settings, including substations, power plants, and industrial facilities.

Responsibilities of the Relay Technician include:

  • Installing, maintaining, and testing electrical relays
  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrical problems
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics
  • Working with a variety of electrical tools and equipment
  • Following safety procedures
 

Qualifications for the Relay Technician position include:

  • Associate's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in the electrical field
  • Knowledge of electrical relays and their operation
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver's license
