Job description

POSITION:  Installer Apprentice I               


DWS ENERGY  

Founded in 2014, DWS Energy is a rapidly expanding, multi-disciplinary electrical construction company focused on commercial and utility-scale solar and battery storage (new construction and operations & maintenance), building controls wiring, and electrical pre-fabrication solutions in our UL-508A certified panel shop. The organization has expanded its service offerings throughout its tenure and continues to grow at an accelerated rate.


OVERVIEW:  The Installer Apprentice I – Electrical role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of building management systems. This entry-level position is designed for individuals eager to start their career in electrical controls installation.


DUTIES:   The duties and responsibilities of the Installer Apprentice I may include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the installation of building management systems, including wiring, controls, and related components.
  • Perform installation of electrical conduit and cables, ensuring proper routing and secure connections according to project specifications and safety standards.
  • Support senior technicians in troubleshooting and repairing system issues.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in training sessions to develop technical skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Clean workspace

QUALIFICATIONS:  The following are required skills and qualifications:

  • Construction industry experience is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor and work in various environments.


REQUIREMENTS:  The following are physical requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment and materials.
  • Must be able to do prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending
  • Must be able to work safely on a ladder.
  • Occasional exposure to outside weather on job sites.
  • Ability to walk job sites for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift at least 35 lbs. solo and 50 lbs. in tandem lifts.
