Job description

NTN Driveshaft, a world leader in constant velocity technology for the automotive industry, is currently seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer for our Columbus, Indiana operations. NTN currently has 2000 employees working in our Columbus operation and customer demand for our product is growing rapidly. NTN Driveshaft manufactures Constant Velocity Joints (CVJs) for all of the major automotive companies. These customers include Honda, Ford, Toyota, GM, Chrysler and most other automotive OEMs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Determining the equipment control systems, data acquisition systems, vision systems, and the sequence of operations necessary to perform production and assembly operations.
  • Develop new processes and equipment technology and implement projects for new product designs, enhance existing process technology, to improve quality and reduce manufacturing cost.
  • Monitor, analyze and evaluate test data in conjunction with new process trials.
  • Support product and application engineering with process-related issues.
  • Prepare concise summaries/technical reports for project and process reviews.
  • Review/establish process design guidelines.
  • Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and researching programs, applying knowledge of electricity and materials.
  • Confirm system and program capabilities through testing methods.
  • Develop electrical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
  • Develop and modify manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for processing and assembling components; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Assure product quality through testing finished products and system capabilities.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Work Environment - Workday is split between the air conditioned manufacturing floor and the office.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND ABILITIES:
  • BS in EE with demonstrated experience with machine control and data acquisition systems.
  • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in this field.
  • Experience with PLC Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen Bradley, Omron, Mitsubishi) Vision (Keyence,Cognex). Robotics (Motoman,Fanuc).
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Must have working knowledge and skills in MS Office applications and Software(AutoCAD Electrical, Office, SQL)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and demonstrated computer skills is required.
  • Be able to spend extended periods of sitting,standing,stooping and walking must be able to lift 40lbs.
