THE OPPORTUNITY

RS is seeking an experienced and highly capable Maintenance Technician III - 3pm - 11pm to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical equipment across our manufacturing facility. In this role, you will perform advanced preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment failures, and complete complex mechanical and electrical repairs to ensure safe and efficient production operations.

This position requires strong technical expertise, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to supporting equipment reliability and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Perform advanced preventive maintenance and complex repairs on manufacturing and facility equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to support safe, reliable production operations
  • Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions
  • Maintain and repair pumps, drive systems, piping, valves, and related mechanical components
  • Operate a variety of shop tools and equipment to complete repair and fabrication work
  • Support installation, rebuilds, and upgrades of critical production systems
  • Execute lubrication routes and preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability
  • Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately
  • Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, rigging, and lifting practices
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime and drive continuous improvement

WHAT YOU BRING

Experience level will be aligned with demonstrated skill and the appropriate technician level within our Maintenance Progression System.

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, or a related field preferred
  • Typically 4-6 years of experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing environments, with advanced troubleshooting and repair capability
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical equipment issues independently
  • Basic PLC hardware and I/O troubleshooting (Siemens preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of pumps, drive systems, piping, valves, and other critical plant equipment
  • Proficiency using shop tools, power tools, and measurement equipment to complete repairs safely and accurately
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, specifications, and maintenance standards
  • Experience supporting preventive maintenance programs, lubrication routes, and equipment reliability initiatives
  • Overhead crane certification required or ability to obtain (as applicable)
  • Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and following company policies and procedures
