Job description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, preventive maintenance (PM), troubleshooting, servicing, and repairs on production machinery, tooling, equipment, and facility systems. This position requires both mechanical and electrical experience and will play a key role in establishing and developing the future growth and capabilities of the maintenance department. The technician will utilize MaintainX to manage maintenance activities, track work orders, and administer preventive maintenance programs.

DESCRIPTION:

  • Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, machinery, tooling, and facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
  • Establish maintenance documentation, equipment records, and maintenance best practices.
  • Utilize MaintainX to create, track, and complete work orders, PMs, and maintenance records.
  • Assist in building and organizing the maintenance department, including inventory management, spare parts programs, and maintenance processes.
  • Inspect equipment and facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs and prevent downtime.
  • Maintain the facility in safe and efficient operating condition.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with production, quality, engineering, and other departments to complete maintenance-related projects and tasks.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair situations.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and maintenance procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED) with 5-8 years of hands-on maintenance experience required.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair production equipment, motors, controls, sensors, and electrical systems.
  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), preferably MaintainX.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Strong verbal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to build maintenance programs and processes from the ground up.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
