Job description

Successful candidate will be quality-focused with experience designing, installing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and electronic systems, including wiring harnesses, RF components, and radar systems, in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and DoD regulations. Candidate must have knowledge of how to read diagrams, blueprints, and schematics. Candidate must be a team player with the ability to multitask across several projects, including UAV platforms and aerospace applications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors, including leading technical teams
  • Provide technical support and assistance solving technical problems, such as advanced troubleshooting using multimeters and LCR meters
  • Must be able to demonstrate accurate basic math skills
  • Performs a variety of tasks requiring knowledge of fabrication techniques, materials, tools, and equipment, including aerospace-grade connectors, backshells, contacts, and cable assemblies
  • Follows Electronic Static Discharge prevention (ESD) practices
  • Interprets and follows manufacturing orders, engineering drawings, and specifications
  • Operates shop-related machinery including torque wrenches, pneumatic tools, common hand tools, scales, and specialized equipment like Raspberry Pi for test stands
  • Supports and exhibits the focus of zero defects as well as "right-the-first-time" approach
  • Inspects finished products for conformance to specifications
  • May work from verbal instructions
  • Maintains a clean work area
  • Fabricates, assembles, installs, repairs, modifies, tests, operates, and troubleshoots electrical modules, components, wire harnesses, and RF/radar systems
  • Installs wires and electrical components into electrical assemblies per engineering drawings and specifications, including pin-outs, shielding, and grounding strategies
  • Tests and performs fault isolation of components, including antenna calibration and RF range testing
  • Strong decision-making abilities
  • Demonstrates proficiency at electronic assembly, soldering, crimping, splicing, harness fabrication, control panel building, and system-level power analysis
  • Develops and maintains test infrastructure, such as thrust test stands using load cells and embedded systems
  • Other duties may be assigned
  • May be required to work extended hours or weekends, as needed
  • Travel for extended duration as assigned

Required Experience:

  • At least 10 years of experience in related technical fields, such as electrical engineering, RF testing, radar systems maintenance, or aerospace electronics

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a clearance
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and working from elevated surfaces on a regular basis
  • Ability to work in office, production/manufacturing, and outside environments
  • Ability to perform and/or assist in all activities, including the use of hand and power tools, lifting heavy objects, and working with industrial chemicals and adhesives such as epoxy, glues, paints, and cleaners
  • Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting (e.g., DMM, LCR) and power budgeting

Desired Qualifications:

  • Honorable Discharge from Armed Forces from Technical MOS (e.g., radar systems technician)
  • Over 10 years of experience as an electronics or electrical engineer/technician in aerospace or defense
  • Software experience with programming languages such as Python, C/C++, and tools like Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or DAQ systems
  • Formal cable assembly training with certification or equivalent experience in UAV harness design and integration
  • Experience populating and soldering components on circuit boards, including embedded systems projects
  • Quality inspection experience, including validation of technical documentation
  • Familiarity with industry software such as OrCAD, AutoCAD, or similar circuit design
