Leidos Kinetic Effects Business Area, Hypersonics Division is seeking a qualified Electrical
Engineering Branch Manager for its for its Hypersonics Engineering and Integration Department. The position will manage a team of engineers that provide requirements definition, analysis, design, assembly, and test of flight grade electrical and avionic products. The position will be approximately 70% technical and 30% managerial.
Primary Responsibilities
The successful candidate will serve as the Electrical Engineering Branch Manager that will oversee and lead a team of engineers in the electrical design of hardware and software for weapon system development. Specific duties may encompass analog/digital circuit design, parts design, materials evaluation, requirements specification and source selection of missile components, working with software running on a real-time operating system, and supporting design for hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) equipment. Areas of responsibilities will include overseeing the documentation of electrical designs. The candidate will provide personnel to assist in preparation of RFP for component manufacturing, including parts management, quality, test requirements and documentation. The candidate will provide personnel to assist supplier surveillance during installation and inspection as well as review technical drawings and update/correct as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field from an ABET accredited school is required. Candidate should have 8+ years of relevant experience. High School Diploma with 12 years of experience is acceptable as well.
  • Experience in requirements definition, design, development and test of electrical systems relative to weapon systems
  • Missile Systems experience with one of more of the following areas:
    • digital and analog circuit design
    • inertial instruments
    • GPS
    • Telemetry
    • flight termination
    • electronics integration, test and troubleshooting required Circuit design experience - analog, digital, power
  • Experience managing a team is required
  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
  • Candidate must have Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience and demonstrated skill in any of the following areas is also a plus:
    • Project or people management
    • Proposal writing or business development
    • Project estimating
    • Understanding of Systems Engineering processes
    • Test planning
    • CONOP development for assembly, integration and testing of hardware
  • Experience in management of design teams to include developing integrated master schedules, and planning required to execute small to large sized programs
  • Software skills - C, MATLAB, Simulink
  • Knowledge of Real-time Operating System
  • Hardware-in-the-Loop
  • Organizational skills to document designs, assist with Technical Data Packages (TDP) and support production and test of systems
  • Must have experience supporting business development through marketing and generating proposals
  • Technical leadership of weapon system and architecture development tasks
