Electrical Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Inspector
FST Technical Services serves the needs of the growing worldwide Semiconductor/Microelectronics and Life Sciences industries. We began as an independent interface between our clients and their subcontractors to establish build-clean installation methods that satisfied internal specifications and conformed to regulatory requirements.  We are looking for an experienced Instrumentation and Control Technicians/Inspectors to join our teams in Taylor, TX!  This position is a local position, so we are seeking only seeking candidates local to the greater Taylor TX area or those willing to transition themselves to the area on their own.  No relocation or travel per diem available.Position SummaryThe Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Technician/Inspector performs quality inspections and verification of control systems during semiconductor facility construction. This role ensures all installations meet project specifications, codes, and client expectations. A strong electrical background is required, with preference for candidates holding a Journeyman Electrician license.Key Responsibilities- Inspect PLC panels, control cabinets, and field devices
- Verify installations against drawings and specifications
- Perform loop checks and I/O verification
- Identify and track deficiencies to resolution
- Support testing and commissioning activities
- Maintain inspection reports and documentation
- Coordinate with contractors and engineering teamsQualificationsRequired:
- 5+ years in instrumentation, controls, or electrical systems
- Knowledge of PLC/SCADA systems and NEC standards
- Ability to read P&IDs and schematics
Preferred:
- Journeyman Electrician License
- Semiconductor or high-tech construction experience
- QA/QC or commissioning experienceWork EnvironmentActive construction site requiring PPE, physical activity, and extended hours as needed. Walking long distances, working in confined spaces and working at heights is expected.
