Job description

This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Position.
This is a Permanent OPTICAL INSTRUMENT REPAIRER (TITLE 32), Position Description NumberD1211000 and is part of the MO Combined Support Maintenance Shop.

Qualifications:MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate must currently be assigned to a military unit in the Missouri Army National Guard. Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion).
Maximum Military Grade: 1SG (E-8) with date of rank on or after 30 July 2025
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience or training that has provided you with the ability to apply knowledge of optical theory and construction principles in order to test, repair, align, and collimate a variety of complex optical equipment. Must have the ability to understand and apply instructions, and specifications; and interpret blue prints and diagrams of optical paths and mechanical linkages. Must have the ability to use hand and power tools common to an optical shop.
WG-10 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess specialized experience that demonstrates your ability to repair, rebuild, overhaul systems and components of optical instrument equipment. Experience diagnosing malfunction in determining remedy where complex relationships exist among optical systems and supporting mechanical and electrical systems; use a variety of measuring and testing equipment; and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics and work orders.Education:This job does not have a qualification requirement that allows substitution of education for specialized experience.Employment Type: OTHER
