Job description

Grain Processing Corporation, a member of the KENT WORLDWIDE family of companies, has an exceptional opportunity to join our team as an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician!

  • This position is designed and intended to be performed in Washington, IN.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair process control instrumentation, electrical equipment, programmable logic controllers, distributed control systems, and power distribution equipment.
  • Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams, specifications and instructions covering emergency and scheduled repairs, installation and electrical inspection work to be performed.
  • Program, configure, modify, and correctly save changes associated with DCS, PLC’s, and other proprietary controls.
  • Perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of material and principles of operation of electrical equipment.
  • Energize and de-energize electrical distribution systems including but not limited to 120V single phase, 480V 3 phase, 4160V 3 phase, and 13.8kV 3 phase.
  • Service electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuits, printed circuit boards, and similar electronic devices.
  • Install, repair, and maintain communication cables, power distribution equipment, MCC rooms, and related branch circuits.
  • Size, lay out, install, and repair threaded conduit and wiring systems.
  • Perform work in accordance with all safety rules and regulations and plant policies and procedures.
  • Work as a team with other E&I Technicians, Mechanical Maintenance and Production Operators to troubleshoot and repair equipment problems in the process.

EDUCATION:

  • 2-year degree in Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology or related technical field is desired.

OR

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant job experience in a manufacturing environment required.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience troubleshooting and programming PLC’s (i.e. Allen Bradley)
    • Knowledge of Process Control Instrumentation calibration
    • Variable Frequency Drive installation and troubleshooting
    • Electrical maintenance knowledge of 24VDC, 120 volt single phase, 480 VAC, 4160VAC, 13.8 VAC 3 phase power systems
    • Electrical theory and principles for operation of electrical equipment
    • Ability to read, understand, and apply the National Electrical Code
