Job description

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Intern
Department: Operations

Reports to: VP of Operations

Job Summary:

JX Advanced Metals USA is a leading supplier of consumable electronic materials. Products include sputtering targets for semiconductors, flat panel displays and data storage devices, and wafers for compound semiconductors. Our integrated manufacturing process assures consistent quality, stable materials, and a low cost. Our manufacturing facilities in the U.S. assure customers of a stable and timely supply of materials anywhere in the world.

JX Advanced Metals is hiring an intern. This role is preferably a full-time, project-based role. Applicants can expect an opportunity to work collaboratively and independently to develop new equipment. Preference will be given to upper-division applicants.


Education and Experience:

Upper division engineering student majoring in electrical, mechanical (with a focus on manufacturing), or other related degrees.

Experience may be substituted for education.


Duties/Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively and independently to develop new equipment.


Preferred Qualifications:

โ€ขUpper division engineering student majoring in electrical, mechanical (with a focus on manufacturing), or other related degrees
โ€ขCAD experience
โ€ขPrevious motorized project experience (electric, RC, Arduino, robotics, etc.)
โ€ขStrong communication skills


Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
