How much do electrical engineering 200k jobs pay per year?

As of Jun 7, 2026, the average yearly pay for electrical engineering 200k in the United States is $72,843.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $61,000.00 and $83,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are some common challenges faced by electrical engineers working on high-budget projects, and how can they be addressed?

Electrical engineers working on high-budget projects, such as those with $200K budgets or more, often face challenges like coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, managing tight project timelines, and ensuring compliance with strict safety and regulatory standards. Effective communication and project management skills are essential for navigating these challenges. Staying up-to-date with industry codes and leveraging project management software can help streamline collaboration and ensure project milestones are met. Regular meetings and clear documentation are also crucial to address issues proactively and maintain alignment across all stakeholders.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Electrical Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Electrical Engineer, you need a solid understanding of circuit design, power systems, and electronics, supported by a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering and relevant licensure (such as a PE license). Familiarity with CAD software, simulation tools like MATLAB, and industry standards is typically required, along with certifications such as IEEE membership or specific vendor training. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective teamwork and communication abilities help set candidates apart. These competencies are essential to ensure safe, innovative, and reliable engineering solutions in complex technical environments.

What is the difference between Electrical Engineering 200K vs Electrical Engineering Technician?

AspectElectrical Engineering 200KElectrical Engineering Technician
Required CredentialsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, professional engineer (PE) license often preferredAssociate degree or technical diploma in electrical technology
Work EnvironmentDesign, development, and analysis in offices, labs, or project sitesInstallation, maintenance, and troubleshooting in field or industrial settings
Employer & Industry UsageEngineering firms, manufacturing, power generation, and consultingConstruction companies, maintenance firms, manufacturing plants

Electrical Engineering 200K professionals focus on designing and analyzing electrical systems, often requiring a bachelor's degree and licensing. In contrast, Electrical Engineering Technicians handle installation and maintenance tasks with technical diplomas. Both roles are vital in the electrical industry but differ in responsibilities, credentials, and work environments.

What is electrical engineering and what do electrical engineers do?

Electrical engineering is a branch of engineering focused on the study, design, and application of equipment, devices, and systems that use electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. Electrical engineers work on a wide range of technologies, including power generation and distribution, telecommunications, control systems, and electronics. They may design electrical circuits, develop new electronic devices, or oversee large-scale electrical infrastructure projects. The field requires strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of physics and mathematics.

Job description

Salary: $200K

Overview

Aehr Test Systems (NASDAQ: AEHR) Headquartered in Fremont, California, Aehr Test Systems is a leading provider of test solutions for testing, burning-in, and stabilizing semiconductor devices in wafer level, singulated die, and package part form, and has installed thousands of systems worldwide. Increasing quality, reliability, safety, and security needs of semiconductors used across multiple applications, including electric vehicles, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, solar and wind power, computing, advanced AI processors, data and telecommunications infrastructure, and solid-state memory and storage, are driving additional test requirements, incremental capacity needs, and new opportunities for Aehr Test products and solutions.

Position Overview

The Director of Electrical Engineering will lead a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the development of advanced electrical subsystems used in our wafer-level and packaged-part burn-in test solutions. This role requires a strong technical foundation, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality designs on time. The director will guide engineers at varying levels of experience, establish and monitor development plans, enforce best-in-class methodologies, and champion continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and career development for a diverse team of electrical engineers.
  • Create development plans, establish design priorities, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery of PCBAs, electrical subsystems, and hardware features.
  • Oversee and participate in hands-on analog (high-accuracy and high-power) and digital circuit design, analysis, prototyping, and troubleshooting.
  • Drive continuous improvements in engineering methodologies, documentation, design reviews, verification processes, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ensure robust compliance with PCB/PCBA Best Known Methods, fabrication processes, and supplier guidelines.
  • Foster close collaboration with mechanical, software, test, manufacturing, and product management teams to deliver highly reliable production systems.
  • Participate in architecture development and system-level decision-making for next-generation semiconductor test equipment.
  • Oversee measurement, characterization, calibration, and diagnostics activities to ensure precision, repeatability, and product reliability.
  • Support root-cause analysis efforts for complex hardware issues and guide corrective/preventive actions.
  • Manage resource planning, hiring, budgeting, and team scaling as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as an electrical engineer developing complex hardware systems.
  • 5+ years of managerial/leadership experience leading teams designing and developing complex PCBAs and electrical systems.
  • Proven hands-on design expertise in analog (high-accuracy, high-power) and digital circuit design.
  • Proficiency with OrCAD or similar schematic design tools, and strong familiarity with PCB layout techniques and constraints.
  • Deep understanding of PCB and PCBA fabrication processes, industry standards, and Best Known Methods.
  • Strong command of engineering design methodologies, structured development processes, and quality-driven execution.
  • Extensive lab experience with measurement equipment such as DVMs, oscilloscopes, VNAs, power analyzers, etc.
  • Solid understanding of instrumentation calibration, diagnostics, and system-level verification principles.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating in multidisciplinary environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing hardware or systems in the Semiconductor Capital Equipment industry.
  • Direct background in Semiconductor Test systems or burn-in/reliability equipment.
  • Familiarity with high-reliability design practices, thermal/electrical stress environments, or high-density/large-channel-count systems.
