Electrical Engineer - Columbus, NE
Summary:
This position is responsible for providing engineering support and leadership for a production department within the Columbus Corn Processing Complex. Primary focus will be applying engineering skills to lead and contribute to projects that improve personnel, process, and food safety, environmental compliance, product quality, and costs.
Specific Job Duties
  • Insures that electrical power utilization in the company facilities is maintained at an efficient and adequate level to meet company needs.
  • Maintains drawings and prints for company electrical distribution and instrumentation systems, and insures that such are maintained in a current status.
  • Reviews electrical systems designs to insure that such are adequate for future company needs, and makes recommendations pertaining to future modification and requirements.
  • Designs new power distribution systems to meet future company needs.
  • Recommends preventive maintenance on the integrity of power distributions systems.
  • Provides information to electrical systems consultants on special projects undertaken by the company.
  • Interfaces with local or municipal power suppliers to insure efficient power transfer and distribution to meet company needs.
  • Functions as a resource to maintenance and operations personnel, identifying and diagnosing electrical problems on production equipment in company manufacturing facilities.
  • May participate in the installation of new production equipment by providing technical electrical services requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical engineering principals.
  • May assist in performing preventive maintenance duties on electrical production equipment as requested.
  • Works closely with maintenance personnel on safety issues pertaining to preventive maintenance on high energy lines.
  • Maintains familiarity with National Electrical Code and OSHA requirements.
  • Works closely with the electrical and instrumentation team to maintain ADM standards.
  • Provides electrical and instrumentation estimates for capital projects, will be required to manage all or part of capital projects.
  • Performs reasonably similar or related duties that may be required for the successful administration of the function.

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in the field of Engineering (Electrical Preferred)
  • Master Electrical License
