Position Summary

The Electrical Engineer II is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting electrical distribution products and engineered power solutions. This position independently performs electrical design work, develops engineering documentation, and collaborates with Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Project Management to deliver high-quality products that meet customer requirements, industry standards, and company objectives.

The Electrical Engineer II leads moderately complex engineering projects, supports new product development, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives while serving as a technical resource within the Engineering department.


Essential Responsibilities

· Design electrical distribution equipment including switchboards, panelboards, modular power systems, and related products.

· Develop electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and Bills of Material (BOMs).

· Perform electrical calculations including load analysis, conductor sizing, voltage drop, equipment selection, and short-circuit analysis.

· Provide technical support during fabrication, assembly, testing, and commissioning.

· Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Project Management to support product development and production.

· Ensure designs comply with UL, NEC, NEMA, IEEE, ANSI, customer specifications, and company standards.

· Support prototype builds, engineering change management, and new product introductions.

· Participate in root cause investigations and implement engineering improvements.

· Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, manufacturability, and cost reduction.

· Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

· 3–6 years of electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Experience designing electrical power distribution equipment or industrial electrical systems.

· Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar electrical design software.

· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.


Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, or modular power systems.

· Knowledge of UL product standards, NEC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI requirements.

· Experience with ERP/MRP systems.

· Experience in engineered-to-order (ETO) manufacturing.

· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

· Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and power distribution systems.

· Ability to interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications, and electrical codes.

· Strong troubleshooting and project management skills.

· Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

· Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.


Physical Requirements

· Frequently walk throughout manufacturing and warehouse environments.

· Stand for extended periods while supporting production and testing.

· Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.

· Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

· Occasional travel as required.
