Overview

An established infrastructure operator is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer III to lead complex electrical engineering initiatives supporting critical operational facilities.

This role blends technical depth in power systems with project leadership responsibilities. You will design, optimise, and support electrical distribution systems across industrial facilities while ensuring alignment with operational, safety, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and optimise electrical systems and power distribution networks supporting infrastructure such as pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities

  • Develop one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, system layouts, and perform load calculations

  • Integrate advanced technologies including automation, real-time monitoring, and energy storage solutions

  • Implement robust safety measures including arc flash mitigation and fault detection systems

  • Provide technical expertise for new construction projects and upgrades to existing facilities

  • Participate in complex engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring alignment with scope, timeline, and budget

  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver engineering solutions

  • Support procurement processes for electrical equipment and materials

  • Participate in commissioning, testing, and startup of electrical systems

  • Perform additional duties as required

Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
    OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology (ABET-accredited) in a relevant field plus Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and 4+ years of engineering experience in natural gas, data centres, or related industries

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience

Technical RequirementsCore Expertise
  • Hands-on experience designing and supporting power distribution systems

  • Strong knowledge of high-voltage equipment including transformers, generators, switchgear, and related components

  • Experience developing electrical schematics, system layouts, and performing load calculations

  • Knowledge of reviewing arc flash studies and implementing mitigation improvements

  • Working knowledge of electrical design codes (NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE, etc.)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general PC applications

Power Systems & Analysis
  • Experience with power system design, analysis, and simulation tools such as ETAP, MATLAB, PSCAD, Simulink, or similar

  • Understanding of grid integration and renewable energy systems

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Experience with PLC and HMI systems

  • Experience in Pre-FEED, FEED, or EPC project environments

  • Project management experience
