POSITION SUMMARY
BNS Power is seeking a Project Engineer to support the successful execution of data center construction, network infrastructure, and mission-critical facility projects. This role serves as a key liaison between Project Managers, Construction Managers, customers, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with customer requirements.
The Project Engineer will be responsible for project documentation, technical coordination, procurement support, scheduling assistance, logistics management, and field execution support. The ideal candidate has experience supporting data center construction projects and understands the fast-paced environment of mission-critical facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Execution Support
  • Support Project Managers and Construction Managers throughout all phases of project execution
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, resource coordination, and project tracking
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings, progress meetings, and customer status meetings
  • Monitor project milestones and identify potential schedule impacts
  • Assist with project closeout activities and turnover documentation

Technical Coordination
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and construction documents
  • Coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, and field documentation
  • Support construction teams by identifying and resolving project-related issues
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and field personnel to ensure project requirements are met
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with customer standards and project specifications

Document Control
  • Manage project files and ensure proper version control of all project documentation
  • Maintain drawing logs, submittals, RFIs, permits, change orders, and project records
  • Track document approvals and customer-required deliverables
  • Ensure accurate and timely distribution of project documentation
  • Support compliance with internal quality and documentation standards

Procurement & Logistics
  • Coordinate material procurement, shipping, receiving, and delivery schedules
  • Track equipment status, purchase orders, and long-lead materials
  • Work closely with vendors, suppliers, warehouses, and field teams to ensure timely project support
  • Coordinate site access requirements, mobilization activities, and travel logistics
  • Support inventory tracking and material management activities

Financial & Project Controls Support
  • Assist with purchase order management and invoice reconciliation
  • Support project budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking activities
  • Monitor project expenditures and assist in identifying budget variances
  • Maintain project reporting and status updates for leadership and customers

Communication & Reporting
  • Serve as a communication point between project teams, customers, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Prepare project reports, meeting minutes, action item logs, and status updates
  • Escalate project risks, delays, and logistical challenges to project leadership
  • Maintain accurate records within project management systems

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2-5 years of experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Construction Administrator, or similar role
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience supporting data center construction, mission-critical facility construction, or network infrastructure projects
  • Experience working with construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change management processes
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Valid driver's license
  • U.S. Passport or ability to obtain one

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience supporting active data center or mission-critical facility environments
  • Familiarity with electrical infrastructure, structured cabling, network deployments, UPS systems, cooling systems, or critical power environments
  • Experience with project management software, ERP systems, and document control platforms
  • Understanding of procurement, material management, and construction scheduling
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
