Job description

Position Description:
Works directly with Santee Cooper's direct serve commercial customers with instruction and direction from others. Work with others in the group to promote and implement Santee Cooper's energy efficiency and customer service programs. Assist in numerous commercial energy services (energy assessments, energy audits, high bill analyses and rate analyses). Help provide technical support to commercial customers and others in the Commercial Energy Services group. Promote environmental stewardship through day-to-day actions. Adhere to Santee Cooper safety policies and procedures in the performance of job duties.
Essential Job Tasks:
  • Works with others in the group to implement Santee Cooper's energy efficiency and customer services programs, but may implement some straightforward projects.
  • Possesses a general knowledge and develops a working knowledge of these programs and how to enter project data in the tracking system.
  • Seeks energy efficiency program guidance from others in the group.
  • Assists in physically inspecting customer locations before or after energy efficiency projects take place to ensure program integrity.
  • Helps provide technical support related to energy efficiency projects when needed.
  • Accompanies others when meeting with commercial customers.
  • Assists in performing energy services such as energy assessments, energy audits, rate analyses, billing estimates, interval mesh network metering and high bill analyses, but may perform some routine energy services.
  • Seeks instruction in these energy services from others in the group.
  • Helps provide technical support related to energy services when needed.
  • Serves supporting role to program manager or primary responsible person for one of Santee Cooper's DSM programs such as Small Business Energy Saver, Standby Lease Generator, EVolve Grant and EV initiatives, Solar Share, Demand Response, or any future developed programs or areas.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/BET accredited university or college.
  • Familiarity with commercial systems (HVAC, lighting, refrigeration) and commercial building envelope preferred.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, including preparing and interpreting large datasets (e.g., meter interval data and billed usage data) to derive actionable insights preferred.

Compensation Information:
$75,500 -$94,350 (min. - mid.)
Engineer II
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/BET accredited university or college + 2 years experience.
  • Familiarity with commercial systems (HVAC, lighting, refrigeration) and commercial building envelope preferred.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, including preparing and interpreting large datasets (e.g., meter interval data and billed usage data) to derive actionable insights preferred.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) license is preferred.

Compensation Information:
$84,180 - $105,210 (min. - mid.)
Engineer III
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/BET accredited university or college + 5 years experience.
  • Familiarity with commercial systems (HVAC, lighting, refrigeration) and commercial building envelope preferred.
